Brake Pedal Noise?

Has anyone else noticed a very audible "Clunk" when taking your foot off the brake pedal? Mine comes back so hard the clunk can be felt in the entire pedal assembly (Clutch and gas pedal as well).

It doesn't matter how lightly I take my foot off the pedal, it still makes a loud clunk.

Just curious if this is an isoloated problem, or other 2011 GT owners have heard/felt the same thing.

My V-6 Automatic brake pedal does the sound also. I just go slow on the release of the pedal for the last 1/2 inch or so. Its nice and quiet when i do it this way.

I just took mine in for this exact same issue, it was driving me nuts. They greased the pedal somehow, I was skeptical at first but i've put a full tank through it since i've been to the dealership and it seems to have fixed the problem!

My wife noticed the same brake pedal noise upon release on her 2010 V6 Auto. Will see if the dealer here has a similar remedy.

I have the same problem...only noticed it because my wife was in my car and with her in it, my stereo was turned down...anyway, based on what I just read, I'll give the local Ford dealer here a chance to "fix" the problem.

Thanks for posting...Lou

A bit of an update:

Took the car in for it's oil change and had the dealer take a look at the pedal at the same time. There are no TSB's on the pedals, and Ford told the dealer to compare the noise to another 2011 on the lot...but the dealer didn't have any. So i am no further ahead than before.

Thanks David,

Anyone else with a GT hearing this noise? There's clunk, plus it shakes the pedal assembly a bit too, if you've got your foot on the clutch you can feel it in your foot.

Tried a 2012 GT the other day and it makes the exact same noise. Sounds like it's normal.

How can it be normal. New cars dont make that noise. Too many people have the same problem.

Went to e dealer yesterday and they applied some sort of lubricant. No more noise!
I'm so relieved!
