2012 GT auto, cannot disable Advance Trac

Hi,

I encountered something weird with my brother's 2012 auto gt, somehow, we can't disable the advance trac on the car.

We tried both methods : brake + single click, or brake + hold 5 secs. It doesn't do anything and TCS is still active. However it disable fine on my 2013.

Anyone encountered something similar?

We'll probably have to get it checked at the dealership. Next time I visit him, I'll check if he activated MyKey by accident... Any other ideas?

Thanks

If it were disabled due to MyKey, the dash should give you a message saying so when you try to disable it.

Hmm, it rules that one out, thanks...

I guess it could be a dead button then :/

That'd be really easy to check. Just tap it once (brake condition doesn't matter); the instrument cluster should say "traction control off". If it doesn't, the button's broke.

Does the trunk open when you hit the trunk button?

Yea, the trunk open correctly... and tapping doesn't do anything..

So I guess it looks like it's either's a dead button or some wiring issue. Time for a visit to the dealership, thanks

Mine works fine just holding down the button until the LED read-out says "sports mode" or the advance track light come on the dash.

I always leave my advance trac on. It saved my a** going too hot on to a sharp entrance ramp early when I bought it. When it activates, it feels really strange but is a great feature when unexpectedly needed. If I had been in my old fox body, i would've rolled the car down the embankment.
