My window goes up and down fine. Alignment is fine. But when door is open, there is about quarter inch of play (inwards and outwards) in the window. So when door closes, there is a slight rattle. Window to regulator bolts are tight, along with window regulator nuts as well. Do I have a bad regulator, is there some kind of adjustment in the track, or something else I'm missing?
I'm Thinking Windows Guides are Worn and or Inner & Outer Belt Weatherstrips Maybe Worn out as Well. Also Rattles Can Come From Loose cables Etc in door Slapping against Something.
Thanks for the quick reply. From the PDFs, I don't see any window guides like the older mustangs had. Nor have I read anything about adjustments. I have took both door panels off(replacing inserts) and trying to figure out the door problem. Passenger window seems solid and cable seems to be arranged like driver side.
I Would Think Maybe The Guides are Worn Where Circled. Possibly Cables Stretched Could Cause Looseness or Slop in Window Motor Gears. That & Belt Weatherstrips Seem to Be The Only Thing Keeping The Glass on Track Besides Maybe Front Area By Mirror. See if When Window is Halfway up You Can Grab Glass and Move Up/Down Vs Passenger Side. Also Check at 3/4 Raised. Just a Thought!
Also Speaking of Cables Maybe They are Binding and a Shot of White Grease Spray on Those and A Bit on Guides! While You Are in There!
