Thanks, Gabe, your are most correct, sir. I tried this, as well. Change the # in the computer to the 'covered' part, and we're all set. 'Douche' is an understatement. They would not consider it. Service Adviser and Service Manager only know how to punch a number into a computer, they know squat about actual service and repairs. And I told them as much. I'm making head-way with the GM of the dealer, so I see a glimmer of light at the end of this annoyingly long tunnel...
Thanks for your insight and help.
You're welcome. Hope they make right by you.
Did you buy the car from this dealership?

Also, the track's "teeth" are metal, the motor's gears are plastic. Do they really believe the metal teeth got stripped by the motor's plastic gears?
Morons!

Gabe - yes, bought the car at this very dealer. All service and repairs there, too. All warranty stuff so far. This is the first out-of-warranty situation for this car. Yes, the Service Advisor and Service Manager are morons for sure. FoMoCo set up the power seat deal so that it's all connected. They won't just replace a gear set or a motor. The entire track assembly is swapped out. Good in terms of repair, bad in terms of ExtraCARE coverage.

Yeah, that sucks. hopefully the GM can get the Svc Mgr to make it right for you.

At least find out what the part # is that you need.
You can get it for $200-300 on tascaparts.com and just put it in yourself ...

The best price for Ford parts that I have found is Tousley Ford in Minnesota. They charge 10% over cost and shipping has always been reasonable!!

You haven't bought from them in a while though, huh?

They've been Autonation Ford now for a couple years, and their pricing tends to be very similar to Tasca's since they both follow the same pricing matrix

I bought my Shelby rear brake upgrade parts from Tasca. Excellent price and service all around.

Well, I'm happy to report that I finally have a resolution to my problem. After discussions with the General Manager of the dealer, he has agreed to pay for most of the repair. My portion is $230 ($130 diagnosis + $100 deductible). All fixed and picked up yesterday.

Thanks, Gabe. What I liked most about the GM's attitude...he listened...and he understood. That's more than I can say for the Service Adviser, the Service Mgr, & FoMoCo Customer Team.
