temporary tablet mod
I use Sygic. I believe it is from Slovakia. The app is free but you buy the maps and POIs - a lifetime license with free upgrades. I paid about $90 for maps of the whole world, but they have frequent sales. It supports multiple waypoints and you can specify your destination by address, GPS coordinates, and several other ways. You can also have the voice directions spoken in a variety of languages. Mine speaks to me in Italian. The maps are stored on your tablet so no connection is needed other than to GPS satellites.
sometimes its much more convenient to just buy something already made, saves you the time and the headaches.
$450(mount) plus $250 (ipad mini from ebay) - gives me a much better entertainment center in my car than any aftermarket headunit can that I've seen so far. Also allows for the screen to be up where the OEM navigation would be rather than down low in front of the shifter so I think for 450 its great.

i wud love to see one installed in person, which part of town are you from. just wondering if you can make it to any of local stang meets and i can see them.
I have one. They are REALLY nicely crafted. Since the radio bezel and console of our car is polished carbon fiber, I am skinning this one with the same 3k weave carbon fiber and clear coat. The magnets are SUPER strong and it will not fall off regardless of how hard you drive. It sucks in down quick. They also now have added nylon pads to keep from doing any damage to your bezel. Downloaded Dash Command and have a OBDII wifi dongle so I can run dash command via wifi and switch over to sync for music. Can also still keep the phone plugged in via the USB in the console for music and run Dash Command at the same time. Lots of different ways to use it. The new iPad mini holds a great charge, so charging has not been a problem. I still consider adding a power port tho if I jail break the ipad mini I could have it turn on with the start of the vehicle. It is pricey for a holder, but I have not seen anything NEAR as good looking as this part is. He made mine with the trim ring will snap out so I could match the boss brushed trim look opposed to chrome.

and thats awesom ethat the rim snaps in and out so you can change it to whatever you want.
unfortunately the chrome on mine has a small blemish now and i have no idea how it happened but its not that bad.
CiniZter - im in spring near the woodlands - how about you?
Yes DeeJayTJ, dont know if he glued yours, but this ring one snaps in and out. Jailbreaking the mini gives you a few other apps you can not get as it is. The App that I like. A lot of guys on the F150 forums that have permenant mounted ipad mini's all jail break them so they act more like an integrated unit to the vehicle. One app makes the ipad automatically turn on upon start up and it goes strait to wherever you program it, like to your music. It can even start playing the song that was playing when you turned the vehicle off. The bad part is, there is risk anytime you jailbreak a phone or ipad. Warranty is definately gone and some question security. I considered running the second USB hub from the sync module to the side of the radio bezel where when you magnetically attached the holder, it would also plug into the USB hub to a 4" cord into the iPad mini. I am on the fence tho
you and i already follow each other and you "like" lots of my posts whenever i post car stuff lol.
I'm starting to get closer to doing this. I'm still a little concerned about quality. I don't mind paying the money if it's well made and lasts. Those of you that have had it for a while, how is it holding up?

Shane, no way to 3D print one of these with the quality they are made. I have 3D printed things parts and it would not be the same
