im curious as to how long it would take and how much it would cost to have a one off made and if the quality would be as high as these are.

this is a **** good engineered product! lol i mean its PERFECT

i saw another one just like it made by a friend of Musicar Northwest and unfortunately the quality was no where near as awesome as this one. it even looked a little bigger and kinda like it overlapped the dash. the screen also didnt pop out the way this one does.

just dont think its worth having your car left at a car audio shop or in a garage while you cover it in plastic to protect the dash and then start fiber glassing everything in to make it happen. all the time and labor involved.

also, these arent fiberglass... im sure the original prototype one was, but the new ones are not. they were made in a mold off of the original.

****edit****

I am in no way shape or form affiliated with them lol I just REALLY like this product its awesome.

subscribed! I received an e-mail from musical northwest today replying to the one i sent them about being on the waiting list for the next production

Price does seems little steep but the quality looks superb. Honestly if it will stay in place all the time it's a winner for me.

i have an iPad air though i love the big screen but i guess i will sell it for a mini to do this mod. as much as i would love to have my huge iPad air fixed in my dash i know some douche bag wouldn't hesitate to mess up any part of my car to get their greedy, lazy hands on it. sigh

The main problem with this kit is that it's for an ipad. iOS is awful for customization and I'd never want to use it in the car. Should have gone Android route as there are more options for tablets/customization/more customers. The Nexus 7 is the perfect tablet for our car, but there's literally no mounts for it that I can find.

Well that does make it slightly less than perfect doesn't it.

The only thing I use my Nexus 7 for in my Mustang is navigation with the Sygic app with maps stored on the N7 and it works great for that. My mount (made with 1" web strap, needle and thread, and heavy duty twist ties) would not hold the N7 steady in really spirited driving, but I'm not usually doing any of that when I'm using it anyway. You don't need a nav system on an autocross course.
