Did anyone have problems installing this in their premium mustang with a 6 cd changer? If not, does everything else work properly except the cd slot being limited to one?

A friend of mine installed this into his 12 grabber blue MCA coupe. He loves it. I like it too but since our car is a vert, I'm not sure that I'll be able to see the screen in bright sunlight. That is the biggest reason we didn't order the factory NAV unit.

I've seen a couple other companies have made NAV units for the Mustangs but their screens sit much lower in the dash; closer to the shifter. I've wondered if this lower position would help cut glare & make the display easier to read. The negative aspect of this is that with the screen lower, you have to take your eyes further off the road to see it. I wouldn't want to get any distracted driving tickets just for changing my radio station.

I helped my friend install this unit yesterday. How did you guys hook up the camera by the license plate? We ran the cable under the floor, but we weren't able to take out the rear license plate lights.

With the trunk open, from the inside u can undo the clips that hold the plate light. U can't just do it from the outside w/o doing damage

When u remove the light bezel of the plate there is a kind of fence in the middle (no idea if fence is the right word ). This is already hollow so you can drill a hole out to get the cable outside. Here the pictures of my installation, so you know what I'm talking about:

So we should push the license plate light in and up towards the bumper? We unscrewed the lights, and took out the trunk lining, but couldn't get the lights to budge.

Thanks for the info guys.

You first need to remove the bezel showed on my pictures, you can do this from the outside, its just clip mounted.

After that you can remove the lights by pressing them out.

I'm installing the nav system as well, but like you, I'm having trouble removing the light bezel, seems like you have to reach inside and push down but it won't budge. We're you able to remove yours?

Yeah, we got my friend's car buttoned up last week. You have to take off the rear license plate. Then you pull down the plastic piece surrounding the lights. You can tell it's a separate piece. Pull down until it snaps out, it's held on by clips. Then you can unscrew the light fixtures.

I used to feel like a total tool when I had a passenger in the car and had to tell SYNC which one I want, I always had to explain to them that there's was no way of switching manually.
Does it show USB 2? I've been trying to figure out if I have the USB 2 on the module behind my glove box so I can just install a large flash drive or portable hard drive back there with all of my music.

Does anyone know how the raxiom radio works with non sync vehicles? Like what features wouldn't work and which ones would?

Sorry I'm coming late to this party. I have a couple of questions regarding operation I didn't see in this thread.
1. If you plug your USB device into the USB in the console do you still have the voice commands to change songs?
2. Can you use voice commands to set destinations or is it entirely my manual entry?
3. With Sirius does it display all of the same info as the standard system?
Thanks in advance!

1. Yes if you plug in via USB, voice commands work.
2. Manual entry
3. All of the same info is displayed. It's just arranged and presented differently with backgrounds and whatnot in the screen in a different format versus the single line display in a stock radio.

How are you guys liking the backup camera? I installed mine two days ago but I'm not liking how it looks. It doesn't blend in with the back of the car so I may just remove it.

It really doesn't bother me. I have it tucked in by the license plate. I personally think it's small enough where it doesn't look too out of place but it may not be for everyone.

Funny story. I called Rosen about getting a camera with distance lines and they sent me a new plug in harness so that I could use any camera that I wanted. So I'm testing everything out before I start running wires through the car and the power for the camera comes loose and hits some metal and then there is smoke, not good. Secured everything and started back up and all works except for the camera picture. Called Rosen and they say that I've burned up the 12v chip or something so I have to get power from another 12v source. That was no problem just piggy backed off another wire. Now when I turn my car on I no longer get the Raxiom logo, I get the backup camera and then it goes to the radio screen. I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing but I was tired of seeing that Raxiom screen every time anyway.

WOW, this is a great system for us who did not buy nav. I think I will order one from American Muscle. I do have a 6 disc changer. I will have to buy a used one from ebay. As I do not even use the 6 disc. Does AM still offer a discount code, as this is a early X-mas gift for me.

Yes the screen is smaller than I would like to see but you have to admit it does look like it came with the car. And the price is right; $700 vs. how much for a good HU and Datalink? I think I may be converting...I am really liking it more and more.

I do have a few questions if Dan or any Raxion owners care to answer them:
How do the maps get updated?
Does the screen display band name/song title, info when on radio or cd?
Does it display the same info when using BT, or USB audio input? Or does it just say "Blue Tooth", and "USB Audio"?

Thanks guys!
you have probably had this answered since this is an old thread but i thought i would comment. i just made an account today.
you have to take the sd card out, insert it into your computer and download the software from naviextras then update. maps are not free though, you have to buy those yearly.
it doesnt display any title of any song from any source which sucks bc i was used to that with my other aftermarket radio, so now i have to shazam everything to find out who it is lmao
