I could not find a USB that would charge the tablet completely. I am not a computer guy so I will do my best here but the OEM charging cable will not give enough power to charge/run the tablet. I would have to have the USB cable plugged in for hours and hours just to get a half battery charge on the tablet. Believe me I tried every which way to get that thing to charge through the USB plug, including buying a "Samsung car charger kit" and the best results always came back to plugging into the cigarette plug.

Wife tried to charge her Kindle Fire in the Escape via USB on a road trip and it notified her that it wasn't going to charge well at all if the device was in use, and not much better if it wasn't.

What about the sound quality, and eq settings? Nobody has said if it sounds better than stock especially when using Sirius

Solid connection every time. I am streaming 4 Bluetooth connections from it simultaneously(GPS, goPoint, iTSX tuner, + Sync)
I press the steering wheel control and say Bluetooth connection. Music plays where it left off, every time within a sec. No wires = no mess. The quality is very high.
Just upgraded to the iPad Air for the faster processor. Nothing beats it.

Actually I think it was because my fingers were cold.
It usually does not do that.

How are these holding up for those that have had it awhile now?

I really like the appradio 3 but at $8-900, and I like the new kenwood system but at $400ish for the face plate and adapter, then around $900 for the cheapest radio. Both seem overpriced compared to the raxiom system

I dunno about the AppRadio3, but 1 & 2 were garbage. This is on my list though.

Does anyone know if the backup camera comes on in reverse? I am also interested on whether the Raxiom startup screen can be changed.

Camera comes on automatically when shifting into reverse. You can also turn it on manually at any point with the "CAM" button on the screen.

I still haven't been able to find any info on changing the startup screen.

Couple of ways to tell if you have Sync:
-USB plug in the center console
-small SYNC nameplate right in front of the shifter, below the HVAC controls
-voice & phone button on your steering wheel
