I have taken off the seat to inspect for coins dirt broken parts or anything but looks all intact any suggestions? motor? track?

Ok, it's likely the gears for that have been stripped. I can't be more specific than that. You'd have to take the seat out and diagnose it or have it diagnosed. If you take it to a Ford dealership, there are likely two options they'll lay upon you, and most likely the first only, because profit and easier:
Entire seat track mechanism with motors and gears, suspected part number AR3Z-6361711-A
http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/Pa...&model=Mustang
Suspected gear replacement only, part number AR3Z-6361711-B:
http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/Pa...&model=Mustang
Again, *suspected*. I do not actually know if these are the part numbers that will show up at your local dealer, but at least you can be armed with this info that the two options should be there for ya. The AR was added by me because it *seems* that this is the correct header for the rest of the part number. Do not shoot me because it's not, I'd appreciate it.
Or you can haunt your local junkyard or ebay to get another power seat mechanism. And there aren't any guarantees it works right either. Nonetheless, I lucked into a very inexpensive to acquire, supposedly known good spare driver's power seat track setup for my '06 in the garage for just this very reason.
Hope that helps ya. Good luck!
