thanks, guys. I almost did the black emblems, but I didn't want to go overboard with black/gray theme (hence, the red pinstripes).

Dipped my wheels gunmetal
I wanted to try doing my stock V6 wheels in Gunmetal. Think they came out pretty well. The DipYourCar gunmetal was not metalic so I shot over it with Duplicolor Graphite wheel coating. I will upgrade the rims when the tires wear out but that is at least another year out. Just did not like the plain silver paint.

Very interesting look, don't think it would be good with the stripe over the roof.
I like it this way and like you said, relatively easy to change with minimal expense.
Good job...

But with my new wheels I may be trying something like this. But I love Chip Foose's designs. He has a very classy 2 tone style. Your car is very close to that.
Rob, I would replicate this exact look except with Grabber Blue pinstripes!

How does this product feel? Is it rubbery, or is it a smooth texture like vinyl? Do they have it in gloss finish? I would like to try striping mine, but I am hesitant about how it will hold dirt and grime and not wash easily.

Actually it feels like paint. The texture is a factor of how you lay it down. Thin coats will get you a pretty smooth surface but doing stripes requires you to shoot quickly or it WILL peel back as you lift the tape. I tried to do two tone on my wheels but could not get the tape off fast enough so I shot them entirely in gun metal. You probably would be okay doing the stripes one day and then remasking to do the clear. Just let the stuff cure for about a day. It acts a lot like pain as far as cleaning. I use a sponge just to be on the safe side and shammy it dry - no ill-effects. Plasti Dip makes several colors in the cans, a glossifier and silver and gold metalizers. Home Depot carries black only. An outfit called Tool Mart in Escondido carrys just about everything and spray cans and quarts and higher volumes to be applied by a spray gun. I picked up a detail spray gun from Harbor Freight for $10 and it works great. I have a couple cans of silver metalizer which I am debating using on my dipped wheels to maybe lighten them up but I am worried about consistency between wheels. Worse case, I can just peel it off and reshoot them. DipYourCar.com has a lot of videos and Fonzie is a good guy. He can get you the speciality stuff too but shipping takes a while since it is HAZMAT and must ship ground. Enjoy, this stuff has a lot of uses!

You might be onto something there. Kona has a very short list of colors that work with it. Red, Grabber Blue, Silver, White, and for the adventurous types, Yellow! But the Grabber Blue could be very cool.
