TPMS question... reset

Looks like I waited to long to sync my TPMS to my car. I had the wheels for about 2 weeks before I could sync them. Im assuming they have become dormant.

Instructions say that if I don't sync them soon they come dormant and I have to deflate the tires?

My question is how far do I have to deflate them.. completely, or down 10-15 psi.. I'm gonna have to run to a gas station in order let the air out since I don't have a pump at the house. I would like to not have to completely run them down to 0 with weight on the wheels.

that's weird.I went a couple of weeks myself without any issues resetting the TPMS. I would try resetting them anyway but if you can't, the sensors usually go off below about 27 PSI. so if you do about 25, you should be ok.

What gets me is that I did the key thing, the horn honked, and I went to the drivers side tire, pushed the button 2-3 times and I got nothing..

NOTE:
If the vehicle has been stationary for more than 30 minutes, the sensors will go into a "sleep mode" to conserve battery power. It will be necessary to wake them up so they will transmit the latest tire pressure information to the BCM .

You just got these wheels? Are you sure they have sensors in them?

I bought my wheels and tires from AM and the sensors would not register to the car. They sent a second set of sensors and said that sometimes they get a bad set. I had the second set installed and they wouldn't register to the car either. AM was awesome and covered all the costs involved but in the end I took the car to a local shop and they put in another set and bang, synced right up to the car. Fwiw, the shop has this hand held gun that can read and do all sorts of fun things to tpms sensors and they laid out a few random sensors, including one of the non working ones from my car, and pointed their tool at each and the only one that didn't respond was mine. It may be your sensors.

Yea. I put mine up on a lift and deflated all 4 tires(removed the core). Let them sit for 20 minutes then aired them back up.... Still didn't sync.. I think I'm gonna go spend the $20 Sears wants to do it. They better not charge me if it doesn't work.
