Not at all. These just black out a portion of the light. The part where the light comes out isn't blocked at all, so it gives full light output, just in the shape of the '13-14 style.

As far as removal of the lights, that's up to you on install. I installed mine on the car to start, then removed the tail lights and used a heat gun for the sides. It helps having the brakes and reverse lights on when installing in order to properly align these overlays.

I got the tail light trim, tail light conversion kit, and the decklid from AM. I am quite happy with the results.

 

The big reverse lights in the middle kill it for me...looks forced. The surround look really good.

AM just released a video as'what raxiom is up to' in youtube. looks very appealing. it shows a 10-12 and a 05-09 mustang with 13+ style rear lights in night.

I don't see them making them for 10-12 because the 13 taillights fit them with modifications. I could very well be wrong though. if raxiom wants mo money then they need to make them for more models!

 

Yeah part of fitting with a modification is $800 + body work or at the least vinyl to cover the hole. It's not an ideal solution.
