I think it would take away from the HID beam as well.

Ranlan, I like the stripes. Turned out great. It's not as hard as people make it out to be. Mine were half as narrow so that might be why I think so but still.

nothing says bad idea more than an aftermarket accessory that goes right in front of the headlights. "it's okay, I like not seeing anything, ever."

Just get the GHG pinstripes & put them at the edges of your white stripes. That would look ****.

I understand they are not for everyone but I have driven lots of miles at night and have yet to notice them causing a problem what so ever. Cant tell they are even on

Yeah I wouldn't see it being a problem at all. I've seen worse done, like tint and even those say they barely notice it because these lights are so bright.

Indeed they are Metallic Silver to match the metallic on the DIB and the silver on the wheels. I do really like the GHIG pinstripe idea.

I seem to be the only one who've gone with these stripes. Looks similar to a Camaro or Chevelle stripe from the cowl induction era, but I like them on my car none-the-less....

Yeah... uh those ARE Chevrolet Rally/Rallye stripes. not saying those are "like" those stripes, but those are a literal recreation of them.

I always say it like this at classic car shows when I was a kid.

Rally Stripes are for Chevys.
LeMans Stripes are for Fords
Hockey Stripes are usually for Dodge (in the back)and
Racing Stripes that are only on the hood, roof and decklid are for a Dodge/Chrysler

Chevy Rally stripes are always with a smaller pinstripe on the outer edge, and are on the hood and decklid only. No extending to bumpers or roof.
(2002 anniversary Camaro broke this rule)

Ford LeMans stripes go from front to back on all panels that are painted.
They have no outer pinstripe on these panels. The rocker panels on the sides will have a thin THICK thin stripe arrangement.
(This rule was broken by the 10+ GT500's, and all 07+ GT500 Verts)

Dodge Racing Stripes cover the hood, roof and decklid, but not the bumpers. They are similar to the LeMans stripes, minus the fact that they are not "full body" in their case, there is no side stripe like the Fords.

This is real stuff guys, and has been done this way for a long time. I was very specific with how I wanted my stripes done. This is why the sides of my car are the thin/THICK/thin arrangement, and why I have the small strip above my windshield also having stripes. You won't see them there on the GT500s of recent, but you WILL see them there on the GT350's of recent.

No offense, but I'm glad that not all people think like this. These are not RULES but simply a tradition.

To me, personalizing a car is like getting a tattoo - it should be an extension of yourself, what you like, and where you are in your own life at that time. It should not be dictated by tradition, rules, or what someone has done before.

Be an individual - as long as you do it just like everyone else? No thanks.

That's fine, buck tradition, if that's your prerogative. I set out to build something that you could literally do with a 1967 and have it basically look the same other than the generational gap. I'm sure somewhere out there someone has a 1967 GT convertible that they painted Grabber Blue from a few years newer model Mustang, put a black top on it, some Torq Thrusts and white LeMans stripes.

I wanted something modern that had the exterior touches that a '67 could have also had. Heck, I'm even replacing the 5.0 badges for some classic 302 badges.

Diva, The car world needs both of us! The purists as well of the visionaries. Without both sides of the coin, innovation faulters.

Not saying your sucks in any way, I just set it to recreate a timeless look. Stuck it in a bubble, in 30 years it'll still look classic. Part of what drew me into liking the retro stang in the first place
