my gt500 front conversion
Example: I added 3.7 badges on my little sixer. I then had a few jackholes in the forum tell me that adding those badges was like adding a "1.8 badge to Toyota."
Lets be real. This has nothing to do with badges. It has to do with short little ****** that like to build theirselves up by making fun of less powerful cars.
You can't win either way.

Blah, blah, blah, yammer, yammer...
No, it's not just you, but that's the sad part - there are so many close-minded individuals on here (and other forums) that feel the need to say something like that. If you don't like it, don't comment.
That's probably because you've never owned a car that was so popular, or you're too young to have witnessed the much earlier muscle cars era where people wanted to make their Camaros into Z/28's or SS's, and their non-hemi Dodges look like Superbirds.
It only boggles the mind if the mind is incapable of expanding, or is otherwise immature. I bet after seeing my car, your head would likely explode...
And it's "just a V6..." (what I've been told at car shows and car meets, and in this forum).
If one does not have a Cobra mustang, no reason to install the same Cobra emblem on a GT, Boss or base model. That's played out and cheesy.

Love, love, love, the look of your ride. Just one question, I notice you have the words Shelby written on the front hood. By any chance is your last name Shelby? Did you send your car out to the Shelby Corporation to have it turned into a Shelby v6? If the answer is no to either question, then why are you calling it a Shelby? It's not a Shelby model, so why put the name Shelby on the hood? That's like one placing the words Roush or Saleen on there vehicle when they have a base, GT or Boss model. I'm all for the body kits, striping, but not the words, letters or emblems.

Just leave the subject alone already. Nobody can really win these arguments because the ones who modify their car as such spend ridiculous amounts of money to satisfy their own desires to make their car look how THEY want. They need to defend that purchase .. And a forum where it's ripe with different opinions is kind of a touchy place to bring up visual modifications. So it gets sketchy.
It's their money, let them do what they want. Even if it's to make their car look twice as expensive without the bite to back up the car's visual bark.
You've gone and done it now...

Heck, be the first to write Porsche on your mustang. Who cares if it's not a Porsche, there is a horse emblem in the middle and we have a car named after a type of horse. Heck, if the V6 can have the name Shelby on it, then we sure can call it a Porsche.

I'm gonna have this on my ride, another horse emblem.
Lmao. Absolutely agree, people can buy whatever they want for there car. Heck , take your V6 and put 5.0, Cobra, Roush, Saleen emblems all over your car at the same time if one likes. Install Boss striping, Gt500 striping , Gt500 Front facia, Boss spoiler, Roush wheels, on ones pony if they like too. Heck, stick the Porsche emblem that has the horse in it on your pony , if one wants. Lol

Thanks. So do I.
Actually, you posted more than just one.
Your powers of observation appear to serve you well.
No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
You mean a "GTS"? No. Their front fascia and hood are double-butt ugly (IMHO).
I'm not calling it a Shelby. I merely applied some emblems that I got from Ford. If anyone asks me, I admit up front that it's not a real Shelby.
Mostly, to **** badge ***** off. Secondarily, to breakup the big white area in front of the hood scoops. The stripes are vinyl, and I'm planning on having the vinyl replaced with paint. At that point, I probably won't put the emblems back on the car.
Don't all of these companies make their entire line of parts available? I know for a fact that Shelby doesn't (but like I said, their body parts are butt-crack hideous, so...). And don't all three of those companies have V6 versions available?
I really can't even admit that I care for the GT500 front fascia (and now the every-Mustang front fascia starting in 2013). Like I said before, the SHELBY emblems are available direct form Ford. lastly, I don't know of anyone that would put "Roush" or "Saleen" on a Boss 302, so that rhetorical example is was poorly selected.
Then lets all take a knee and thank God that you don't have to drive it or see it every day. Your head might 'splode. Since you're also not making the payments (oh wait - I'm not either - because I paid it off last week), you should find it easy to sleep at night.
Ya know, I just came back from taking a righteous dump, and when I flushed the toilet, I saw what looked like your opinion following the same path as the rest of the contents.
Yeah, I'm being a smart-azz, but that's part of my endearing nature.

The best part is that the cars boast the huge Saleen window banner while sporting the snakes on both fenders.
Guess what? That Cobra started out as a base GT that Ford modified. That's ok. I won't tell if you don't. Lol
Don't think of cars as clones. Think of it as ones car that is just evolving. Stop trying to label everything and love all.

This is a poor example. Saleen actually modified Cobras in limited quantities. The engine remained factory but the car was given a full Saleen body kit, suspension and decals.
