Mustangs aren't known for their rock solid build quality...

A friend of mine did a full Saleen conversion on his 06. It ended up costing him more money than if he would have just bought a serialized gently used authentic car.

Whoever criticizes clones obviously has no concept of the skyrocketing prices of parts, body shops, and instal labor.

For the critics: Consider this the next time you poke fun at someone. They most likely had to suck it up and pay the costs all once while you flipped burgers and financed these options.

Remember this as you wipe your burger greasy brow off and arrogantly smile at the "posers" that buzz through your drive thru window...And Supersize me while your at it. Lol

Wow guys. Thanks for an entertaining 3 pages. Had to wipe soda off my monitor at some of those photos.

To the OP, was that cost in US dollars or pesos. Not trying to insult, just wondering is all. Regardless, it is your car and you think it looks good so it is money well spent.

I think it looks good; always have and that is why I was glad when Ford incorporated that look for the MY13.

Yeah I do agree with that. I was just curious because I come here to see what people are doing to/with their mustangs. Lots of comments I've seen from this new guy are just negative about changing a car from the way it was. Don't take that as me saying I don't like negativity - everyone IS entitled to their opinion. Your opinion (Joe) threw me at first when I was new, but I understand where you're coming from most of the time now and you're just not afraid to share your opinion.
As far as taking and putting stuff on your car, we do it to customize them/make them look better in our minds/set them apart/make them ours. If you think cs stuff belongs only on cs cars then I guess that's ok... But it would kind of suck. People want to improve (or change if you don't think it's improving) their mustangs. That's what they're about and have been about since the beginning. It's a sport car for everyone with all different entry prices. You make it yours. Sooo... I don't understand negativity about changing the front to the Shelby fascia. The best looking mustangs I've ever seen for the most part have switched to the Shelby front.

I feel GT's are made to be modded. Bosses should stay Bosses, Shelby's should stay Shelby's, GT's should be whatever you want them to be. CS's are just GT's too me and are also fair game. I don't mind if mustangs borrow parts from ANY mustang, but there's something just not right about making a complete copy of a car that's in production, but that's just me and I could be wrong...hahaha of course I'm not wrong, it did feel funny writing that I could be wrong. Lol

What about Saleen inc.? Those posers not only purchase base GT's and modify them but some N/A cars are sold with just body enhancements and stickers!

Also, The 99 S351 started life out as an actual VINed Ford V6!

We lost the point because we got too caught up on "brand names" and what kids are sitting at the popular table. Sad.

What's wrong with what Saleen does? I don't see anything wrong with that.

...and the GT500's are built off of base mustangs. There's nothing wrong with that.

Exactly. That's the point. I know individual people that have built amazing cars from something base.

It's the same concept on a smaller scale yet people get their panties in a bunch.
