I completely agree. I'm gonna have to wait Neil next months paycheck to do it but I can't wait, I haven't decided yet but I might take advantage of the skull caps being off and do a little bit of plasti dip plus clear cost to give it a different look

Hey dmhines,

Where did you tap into for power to the lights?

Got it, thanks.

Wiring diagrams has it getting power directly from the SJB from pin 12 on connector 2280C - no pin there for us.

This is interesting.

In my 2012 diagrams, it is showing that the 2012 SJB is set up for the puddle lights.

All I have to do is run a wire from the mirrors all the way to C2280C and put a pin in slot 12. Should be fine.

The defrost is a different matter. Rear defrost is set up differently between the 10-12 and 13-14 cars. Still, I think I should be fine with tapping into the rear defrost. My only concern is that defrost pulls a fair bit of current, so the mirrors and the rear defrost together may be a bit much? The defrost mirrors have their own 5A fuse. the switch is upgraded from 5A to 10A and comes from the SJB rather than the BJB.

How exactly do you just put a PIN in slot 12?

The SJB should have the male pin there. It is the female pin that I would have to put into slot 12 on the 2280C connector that plugs into the SJB.

I'll post pics later.

The part number for the connectors is WPT-945. You will need 2 of them.

Here are the pics of the wiring diagrams showing the difference between the 2012 and a 2014. There is no difference. Looks like Ford had planned on the Pony Puddles lights form the beginning.

The defrost will be another matter. It is not the same between a 12 and 14. I was thinking of just tapping into the rear defrost, but will that be drawing too much current?

Thoughts?

Mirrors are installed on my 2012.

This is not plug and play, but wasn't hard to do. The part that was absolutley awful was routing the wires from the doors through the tubing and into the car. That was terrible and my hands are pretty bruised up and cut from it.
