I went with MRT's because of the fact that they are short and back out of the way for access to the side of the engine. Why remove one front strut in exchange for two side struts....

No lie....personal opinion......a friend has the redlines....I looked them over before buying this set of MRT's....did not like the position they fit to the fender as it was in MY way for how I deal with things under the hood.

Here's an option if you haven't seen it already.

I ordered the MRT ones, and had them do the custom paint on all of the brackets to match my Sterling Grey - well worth it. Installed them this week, and they look and work great. Easy install. No sound tube on my 2012 V6, but did unhook one clip for the windshield spray near right strut bracket so it would route easier.

Happy with them? Where did you purchase them from and how much?! In the market for a set of struts
Do they have that same bracket issue like the ones on AMs site have where it looks uneven?

From what I've read on-line, the Redline brand requires drilling - which I'd like to avoid. Is anyone familiar with this bolt-on kit that I found on CJPony?
"MUSTANG CPC NXT GENERATION HOOD LIFT SUPPORT KIT V6/GT/GT500 2007-2012
Part Number: HDGL6
California Pony Cars Part Number: ENG-058-600
California Pony Cars NXT Generation Hood Lift Support Kit for all 2007-2012 Shelby GT500s and 2011-2012 V6 and GT Mustangs.
This hood lift support kit will eliminate your factory prop rod and dress up the engine bay. This kit is a simple bolt-on that requires no drilling! This is a high quality product that sets the “Industry Standard” for quality, fit, form and function."

I'm not pissy, I didn't even know mine didn't require drilling when I ordered them. I just bought them because they were Kona and were cheap. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't mind drilling for a better fit.

I have those color matched from cjpp. They're just ok.. not a 100% color match or fit. I did like not drilling holes, but what I don't like is they don't look factory. They don't sit flush either, almost like they're made for an earlier model year. However they're not all bad considering I got them on sale last summer for less than $80 I believe. If I get a chance later I'll try and get some pics for you.

Thanks, John. I'm okay with the color match at 80% close to OEM. If you had to do over, would you get them pre-painted again, or go with unpainted bare aluminum, or black? And, based on the pics and video I see on-line, the fit looks ok. If they stay snug, and work to auto-lift the hood after a few inches, and you think they will last, I may get them. Please offer up any info, again, thanks so much!
Steve (Overboost) - does your question really need an answer? Why drill into a new car when using existing bolts is available? I will only drill as a last resort.
