Yup.

Keep in mind that as you go up the color spectrum, the visible output will start to and continue to drop, as our eyes just can't see it. I noticed a light lessening just with 4500k, but switching to HID fogs made up for any possible loss.

 

Any issues with flickering or shutting off? And how's the quality of the high beams?

 

They're just bulbs. If they flickered, they'd be defective.

 

So did you have to get a whole kit for the fogs or just replace the bulbs with the ones from DDM?

 

kit for fogs since the stock stuff isn't HID.

headlights, simply replace bulbs.

Yes. You have to consider the optical design of the lamps too. The stock mustang headlights tend to flare towards the blue and purple, so you do don't need to go wild with temp.

 

I have a 2012 with factory hids. I like the blue-ish look (call me a ricer, dont care at all)

I got 6000k d3s bulbs and 6000k fogs and they look awesome to me. They match my 6000k switchback turn signals perfectly. everything matches and looks fantastic. And to be honest, ive changed the stock HIDS like 6 times or so deciding which color i wanted. Its very simple actually if you can see what you are doing. Pass side i just moved the wire loom over. Driver side remove the air box or aftermarket air filter. You lift up this little switch inside the housing and then the bulb has to be pulled away from the housing. Its pops out. you unplug the old, plug back in the new, and make sure you POP it back into the housing 100%. flip the switch back up and boom. Done.

 

I find this weird... because the stock 4300 Osrams in mine, seem to be the most yellow out of my other 2 cars, the Acura and the Toyota. Both seem to be whiter than the stock HID's on my pony. I am getting 5000k DDM Tuning ones I think.

 

The D3S bulbs still use the high beam?? I replace the lower fogs with 4500k already... But I'm hesitant to mess with my stock headlights, in fear of losing the high beam

 

if I understand this right, the D3S bulbs are both hi and low beams. In other words, as long as you replace your stock D3S bulbs with another D3S bulb, you should have both functions.

 

factory is D3S, so no change.

I called in my original order and ended up saving a lot of money by getting what I needed vs what I thought I needed. I' sure they offer more that whats on the site, my projectors where an early release of the next generation not even listed yet.

Correct. Retro fitting projectors are for folks who have halogens looking to upgrade to hid projectors. I'm just looking for hid bulb replacement.

 

and to note.. the factory hid's on these cars have a shutter inside of the projector housing that flips down when high beams are put on! It has nothing to do with the bulb.
