Fyi, I'm going with DDM tuning 5000k bulbs, to match my 5000k switchbacks.

My point was give them a call, they support more than the retrofitters...

Sounds like they don't carry d3s bulbs right? That's all I need.

glad I saw this thread, as I am swapping out my front fascia and upgrading from halogen to factory HID headlights next week.

I've used DDM for years and am happy with them but was really disappointed when I got my shipping notification today for my D3S 5000k bulbs. They're shipping them from CHINA.

NOT cool, especially since they charged me $15 for shipping. Might as well go on fleabay next time and cut out the middleman.

I can understand that, but everything is made in China. I don't see the big deal. Not like american made would be any better.

Bones... You've been using them for years and have been happy? So why the worry if from china? Just curious... It is important to note tho that I now know two if you with ddm that have been happy with them. Makes me rest easier. I think my wife is getting them for me for Father's Day

meh. i guess I expected more than just a reseller (and I know that's exactly what they are). I expected them to have it in stock, but can understand if maybe they did and ran out out of stock and wanted to make sure I get them as quickly as possible.

Since I've ordered so much stuff from china through ebay, I figured if i'm going to get it shipped from the manufacturer direct, I might as well just have gone to ebay and saved some money.

Like I said, I have used DDM for years (have the HIDs on my foglights and used them on two of my bikes) so I have been satisfied with them.

fromZtoA, you shouldn't have any issues with them.

I recently bought some 3000k hid kit for my DD fog lights, and I remember a few years ago DDM had their name on the ballasts and now they don't and the bulbs are two different colors when lit! one is yellow like they should, and the other is a shade of green! And they used to come in ddm boxes, now just some Chinese writing on the boxes!
Kind of pissed me off!

That would **** me off too. If I got those this time around, I will send those right back/get a hold of them to complain/refund. That's unacceptable.

Just ordered 4500k replacement bulbs for the headlights. Then a 4500k 35w kit for the fogs.
For the HID kit for the fogs did you have to get any of the extras they offer like mounting brackets, HID harness, error eliminator or adaptor cable?

Couple quick questions hopefully someone knows the answers. What is the wattage of the stock HID headlights? Is it 35W?? Also, what would be closer to the color of the stock LED foglights, 4500K or 5000K, or????

TIA

U shouldn't run anymore than 35W if your trying to achieve the factory look... 4500k is still more blue than factory HIDs, look at my fogs when I was testing the 1st HID 4500k bulb... If u can find a 4300k, it could match the factory bulb a bit more

That's why I went with 5000k for hid bulb upgrades. The stock 4300k HID headlights don't look as white as other oem bulbs I've seen. I also have 5000k switchbacks, and 6000k fogs

Does the bumper have to come off to upgrade the headlight bulbs? It's not worth it to me to remove it again to upgrade the bulbs

Not from what I understand. Just have to reach in from the hood area. Driver side should be easy. Passenger side a little harder.

Btw, I asked a question in the latest pics thread: how do you remove the rear trunk emblem?

The rear trunk emblem is held on by double sided tape, its I PITA to take it off... I only have a pic of it with the new tape I added, I changed it with a decklid panel from a 13-14 which I had to modify a bit to make fit

I made a thread on another forum to get a slight idea of what I did http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/f358/t335254/
