discusted with fords warranties and service
Why do folks complain so much. Can't they realize any Assembly line product may have flaws. You ultimately have 2 choices. Either Mod the hell out of it realizing the opportunity you have been afforded and ENJOY it....or Sell and move on
This just blows for you!! Just don't blame Ford, only. Like guys have said, ****ty dealer. Just try & keep your head up. Maybe you do need to ***** to them a little higher up on pay grade? This just isn't right. I agree, take this to another dealer. Good luck on it. Just know you have a very nice car, I wouldn't get rid if it.

what dealer did you go to??? I live in virginia beach and go to beach ford, they usually do pretty good. I would try another dealer and report the other one. Also i know deysha on here has been good at resolving issues you may want to ask her for help.
i went to cavalier ford in chesapeake. i went to beach ford in suffolk today and they "filed" a claim with ford but they said the same thing. they wont cover it but they'll try anyways. if the claim doesnt go though i'll have no choice but to fix it myself and go on with life, I love this car more than any other i've owned and a lil paint isnt going to discourage me anymore. Dealer service however may deter me from dealing with a ford dealer again.

This may be the wrong section but I do need some help with this matter.
To start off about a month ago I purchased my first and will probably be my LAST ford product. I bought a 2010 grabber blue mustang gt premium with 22k on the clock. About a week ago I notice underneath my hood where the lf fender bolts to the body and also on both areas where the struts mount to the paint is oxidizing and is physically bubbling up and falling off. In a week it has spread to about 2 square inches per spot. Well today I took it to my dealer I purchased it from and showed theme the damage and see if it could be repaired.
Well the answer I got was short and sweet. Its under the hood and they wont do a thing about it. I told them well thee car is only a year old and I lurched the 2000 dollar paint coverage for the vehicle and I would like it fixed. The exact phrase I was told was this by the manager "its a used car,all mustangs do it and my warranty doesn't cover the paint under the hood." And if I want it fixed ill have to pay for it personally out of my own pocket. And when I question them about the warranty and a refund. He said tough luck its a used vehicle your paint warranty from ford is 1 yr and the warranty I purchased doesn't cover oxidation.
Now let me explain this. Im 20 yrs old and a diesel mechanic. Im getting married and moving soon so I wanted a newer reliable fun car for me and my future wife to have and be proud of. I've never been a ford man but I did fall in love with my stang so I took the dive and purchased my "first" car by myself. And im discusted with the service, attitude and way im being treated. He looked down on me due to my age and thinks he can walk all over me. Please if anyone can help me in anyway I need it. I don't want a new car. I just want this solved. If it doesn't get solved I will NEVER purchase another ford product again and I will make sure other hear about my predicament. I do not have any pics due to im at work but I will post some tomorrow morning in the light.
thank you all.Deven

Its not Ford as much as it is your Dealer. Like I said, do a search - there are several threads and some Ford TSB's on bubbling, rust under the hood, etc. If your Dealer is pretending it doesn't exist, they're liars. Find another Dealer. Also, Deysha from Ford is on this forum. Contact her. She has helped several people get their Dealer to pull their head out of their butt. Send her a PM. Her screen name is FordCustomerService.

I’d like to help you with this and get it escalated. Please, private message me with your VIN, current mileage, and contact info so I can help.

like everyone said, find a better dealer- it sucks, but it kinda sucks for them too- they dont get full price for warranty(I think its the biggest reason dealers get attitudes and the deserved reputations)...its kinda silly when you think of it- Ford let something slip thru, and the tech that does the warranty work takes the hit?
Its really cool that fordcustomerservice/Deysha is in here- Fords got the right idea finally in letting folks have some easier recourse than getting stuck with a dealer issue...
I still think to truly fix the warranty 'attitude' Ford corporate should rethink cutting the rates to the techs...easy for a working guy to see where it would make somebody less than thrilled to take a pay cut when the big guys pay vs when the customer pays...
Sorry to hear the hood paint failed...I also wonder if it might have been replaced or something, as I thought they fixed the bad aluminum hood prep issuue years ago...a few years ago, my 06 hood blistered crazy bad, in 6 months went from a smooth waxed surface(underside too) to the entire front underside blistered/the front lip bubbled to the top surface...almost got it fixed, but my ford dealers 'special camera' they use to get ok from ford was broken the day I took it in, before I had time to get back, some unintentional off roading resulted in a scratch near the area that I was sure would void it anyway...was a reason to semi-justify my Fang shaker hood though, so its all good. odd thing is, as fast as the blistering progressed(not driven in winter), its been in the rafters of my garage a couple years, looks identical to when I pulled it off...humid as heck here, woulda thought it woulda spread farther, guess it needs rain water to really corrode...

trust me I understand the tech side of things, I myself am a diesel technician and deal with customers on the daily basis, (however i work for a dealer that will go above and beyond all expectations to please our customers) so I am used to that attitude when it comes to customer service, even if its not even a warranty job but its something that we may have over looked in the process we will pay up to half the labor and the whole parts cost. so ford/the dealer spending 250-400 bucks (if that) to fix a job that i just spent over 20,000 on is slightly stupid.
im waiting on dyesha to call/contact me back, I also filed a claim with ford and i am waiting on information from them.. so if the higher up's domt solve this, as much as i love my car. my Impressions with ford will be ruined and i probably wont get another..
so please keep your fingers crossed because i truely am happy with my car and all of it..except this recent "blemish". and i'd love to keep owning these great cars.

If you are so ready to dump them, when they have not failed yet... is like your customer saying "OMG - I had a problem" - and even though you resolved it, they still whined.

Double standard.
I was in sales for 30+ yrs, and a problem was an opportunity - even though you always tried to minimize problems for the customer. However, when you got to shine as an individual because of your efforts and success to resolve the problem, that customer was often way more trusting in and tied to you.
But if the customer never gives the company or an individual a chance, why should the company even try...

Give these people a chance to do their jobs. No need to post negative about the company at large, you've got some localized arrogant Stealers.
And if the middle/higher ups are unreasonably slow or evasive, write Mulally Cert Mail. You can't believe the results when you write the CEO.

Deysha
Just to update I got in contact with ford and my dealer. I take the car Thursday to be "evaluated" and see if its covered under anything. Even on the phone the dealer acts as if they could care less and wouldn't even schedule an appt for me. They said just to drop it off and they'll get to it when they can Thursday. After this I will NEVER go back to cavalier ford again. Ill keep everyone updated on what the outcome is
Think your dealer is bad, the dealer in Houston told me that Ford doesn't have warranties on thier vehicles, that the 3yr/36000 only covers recalls. BUT he could sell me one.....And thats not even the worst thing they did/said that day lol.
