Cleaning Retro Billet Grilles
Cleaning Retro Billet Grilles
Hey guys,
I purchased a black retro billet grille for my 2011 GT. Everytime I wash the car, the grille is covered in spots. Almost like spots from soap drying on a car, but on the front of the grille. Does anyone have any info on why this occurs or the proper way to clean these billet grilles? Thanks!

I'm on well water and I get water spots pretty easy from the lime/calcium in the water. So when I wash I am constantly rewetting the finished areas - esp the flat surfaces like hood, roof, trunk lid. After washing my last panel, the race is on to dry with the microfiber. I don't get any water spots this way.
Of course, do not wash in direct sunlight but only in shade.

I feel your pain Brother! Our cars are like a naturally pretty woman, it takes a lot of attention to make that pretty girl next door into a runway model... The Devil is in the Details
The only way to really do this is with a chamois, meticulously drying each row of the billet grille (for me that is about 20 rows). All grilles will end up holding water and at least the billet ones are straight lines, not like those plastic honeycomb things that come out of the factory
