'13 Fog lamps - HID/LED conversion? (not in grille, in bumper)

I am going to buy this for my V6: http://www.levittownfordsupercenter....14-p-1216.html

Yes, I am aware this is for GT only, however I know someone who put them in his V6. My question is, how would I go about converting them to HID/LED (I don't know which one is correct), and how would I know which exact bulbs match the headlights on my '13? I don't know much about electrical, I would get a friend/mechanic to do it if it's too involved. Any info is appreciated.

Edit: Pressed enter by accident.

Something to keep in mind that I think MeanStang was alluding to - since your have a V6, it is not pre-wired for fog lamps. You'll need a wiring/ switch to power and operate the new lamps.
We have a kit that is plug-n-play with these projector fog lights with the new V6:
http://www.starkey-products.com/must...-boss-302-2013

It will also work perfectly with any HID kit you buy.

I would personally go with HID's like Danielle did in the thread MeanStang linked to. They are more expensive, but the output will be much better than an LED bulb. Unfortunately the LED bulbs that will fit inside of that projector housing just aren't that bright. If you are just going for looks they will work fine, but if you want functional lamps, HIDs are best.

Hope this helps!

Thanks alot! So all I need is the fog lamps (my original link), the wiring kit (your link), and then a HID conversion kit? Also, do forum members get any kind of discount from Starkey Products? Thanks for everyone's help!

Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong on this? For my base V6 to have in-bumper (Like the California Special) fog lamps that MATCH exactly with the head lights, I would need:

A set of fog lamps obviously: http://www.levittownfordsupercenter....14-p-1216.html
(I want to buy them from here because they're cheapest, no offense Starkey Products)

A V6 wiring kit (because the V6 does not come with them): http://www.starkey-products.com/must...-boss-302-2013

And the HID bulbs: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=4121
(In 4300k because then they'll match the headlamps)

Do I need anything else? I'm not sure if I need this or not instead of the HID bulbs, I'm not very good with this stuff: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3955

If anyone can clarify this situation for me I'd appreciate it.

Doiz,

Everything looks great except youll need a full HID kit, not just the bulbs. You may want to check Stangmods.com out - their kit is a bit more expensive but I believe it comes with a lifetime warranty and their support is great:

I responded to your PM!

Starkey is the best for the fog kits...

HIDs are whereever you choose. But you will need a full kit.

I love Starkey Products, but if I can get the same exact foglights for $115 instead of $250, why wouldn't I?

you're forgetting all the additional wiring including a switch.

I am curious....I have the factory switch to allow for the front fog in the lower valance....but I want to get rid of the LED and put in HID....that is my issue.....who makes a conversion? will they work using the existing harness? My 2014 came with it on it.....

I have Starkeys foglight kit (wiring, switch, lights) and it is the BEST you can buy. No guess work, no needing more parts, no runs to Home Depot and Autozone. I was able to install their kit (I converted my V6 to a California Special front end) in less that an hour and has worked flawlessly sense I installed it.

So I need the starkey wire harness, HID kit from stangmods and the kit from ford? Or is it better to buy the raxiom kit for 350 and add the HID conversion
