Thumbs up Stack Racing Strut Tower Brace

My BMR STB was nice but i needed something wider. I went with a chrome Stack Racing strut tower brace from AmericanMuscle. They were 'out of stock' for over a week but once they came in to ship, i got it in two days. The middle chrome plate says 'Stack Racing', it came with another chrome plate that says 'G.T.' Here are a couple pictures of it.[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

I'm not sure. The Chrome one i got will clear the Plenum (not sure on spelling) cover (on 2010 G.T.). The one your are looking at according to the reviews won't clear the Plenum cover (on 2010 G.T.).

If the strut tower brace will clear the Plenum cover on the 2010 G.T., this means to me it has the highest arch and will clear the engine cover on the 2011 V-6. without any problems

It actually says it won't fit over "aftermarket" plenum covers.

I would bet it will clear the V6.

Does it fit? That looks like the strongest brace yet.

Whether the STB actually does much is debatable . . . some say it does not make a noticeable difference, some say it does . . . clearly it will prevent the strut towers from moving toward or away from each other, but do they really do that?

Theoretically the wider brace could better reduce front-to-back twisting; but it still has very little moment of inertia in that direction so probably won't do much more than a narrow brace.

I didn't notice any difference when I put mine on, but I didn't have a very good basis for comparison -- it was winter, I had snow tires on, and no good test corners to see the difference.

I got one of the narrow ones, the wide one definitely does look cooler, I guess I'm just jealous!

I know someone who installed a curtain rod to his strut towers to measure how much flex happens under, harder than normall driving around curves. According to the marks on the rod, he measured from 3/4 of an inch up to a full inch of flex. He also didn't do any extreme (out of control) driving when he did this experiment, just a few hard curves. It was on a Caliber SRT4 that comes with a pretty stiff suspension set up from the factory. I feel Strut Tower Braces really do work

Thanks for giving me back Chico, Ken.

I must add....With the BMR strut tower brace on my 2011, to remove the oil dip stick i would have to bend it alittle toward the front of the engine to check oil level. On Ken's 2010 the oil dip stick can be checked normal because the BMR strut tower brace isn't in the way.

With The Stack Racing strut tower brace installed, to remove the oil dip stick i just reach between the strut tower brace bars and pull straight up. The strut tower brace (Stack Racing) isn't in the way of removing the oil dip stick at all

Stack Racing Strut Tower Brace

I am putting an Edlebrock supercharger on my 2011 Mustang GT and like the looks of the Stack Racing strut tower brace, could you tell me how high the center of the brace sits above the towers?

S/C and a brace can be a problem.
Check out my special one:

Of course my regular GT has a nice one too.

Bad pic, but it is the Scott Drake in polished aluminum.
