Smell In The Cab
This is hard to explain but at times I get a weird smell in the cab. I used to get this smell a lot when I first got the car when I step on it. Then now today I was driving at 105 for like 20 seconds and I started to get that smell again. Another time I got it when I downshift from 3rd to 2nd at 50mph with slowly taking clutch out. I not sure where this smell come from but it scares me at times. I have a 2012 v6 with no mods on motor beside the flownaster I install 2 days ago but I got this smell even before I install the flows.

It's a weird smell i don't know how to explain it. I know its not clutch because I know how clutch smells. It almost smells almost like rubber. But not that strong but if I lower the window the smell will go away right away. I was thinking maybe the motor is breaking in. But the smell just very hard to explain

This has happened to me before as well. Multiple times. Like you said this usually happens to me after I stop on it. I usually just look past it and try not to think anything of it. I assumed it was just the exhaust.

Well at least I not the only that gets this smell. Then maybe it could be the exhausted lets see what happens over time. How many miles do u have on your pony? I have 6850miles on it. Next time I step on it I leave the window a little crack

I vaguely remember a guy on here who has a Boss and had a similar smell. I just tried searching the Boss section for his thread but the mobile app sux. He found something loose under the car near the trans if I can remember correctly. If you look in the Boss section you can probably find it, I think it was 3-4 months back. Don't quote me though...just trying to help out.

No not a lot at all. I actually have a lot more on it then I thought I would though not going to lie. I guess it's because it's just so much fun to drive you always end up taking the long way

Hello Members,
As per my Technical Subject Matter Expert, the exhaust does get hotter under hard acceleration and this odor could be normal. Quality of fuel may also have an effect on the type of odor. However, if you do not feel comfortable with it, please bring your vehicle in to your Ford dealer for diagnosis. Then, PM me with your VIN, contact info, mileage, and dealer so I can help.
