RPM Cruising with 2012 V6 Auto and 3.31
I have had my 2012 Premium V6 Auto w/3.31 for four weeks, and now that it had 1900 miles, it was time to drive from NC to NJ. Awesome ride on Sunday with no traffic. I was wondering how the following RPM cruising in 6th gear compare to a 2011-12 Auto with stock rear gears:
MPH-RPM
60-1750
70-2000
80-2250
90-2500
MPG...
I got the same 23.8 mpg (dashboard readout- math slightly higher) as I have been averaging during break-in at home. Thought it would be higher. However considering my avg speed/rpm, I am real happy. Made it in time for Q2 of SuperBowl

Figured that would be what a lot of members would say. I'm hoping that it was a heavy foot and not being fully broken in yet.
Filled up and measured today commuting 70 miles mostly highway and was getting like 27mpg while driving speed limit (but that is not normal). Hoping it gets better as I get more miles on the car. Maybe I need to hurry up and get that CAI and Tune in order to save some more gas

Wow.. not sure of the rpms at speed, but we have a 6'er auto with the stock gears.. she avg around 30-31mpg with the gf's commute.
I took her from South Jersey to FL and avg 34+ and the same on a trip to VA.
Lately she's been getting around 27-28mpg but I think it has alot to do with the winter fuel mix and much shorter commute now.

I have the stock 2.73's and get around 29 on the highway, but thats at about 75mph. When I first got it I managed 33 on a trip down the AC expressway going the speed limit.
I don't know my exact RPM's but 60 is under 1500 for me.
Your number does seem low, though. My guess is winter fuel mix and that good 'ol "new car lead-foot"
