Exhaust: Not too loud. Pypes, Stainless Works or Borla Touring
Exhaust: Not too loud. Pypes, Stainless Works or Borla Touring
I posted this in another thread because there is a so many exhaust threads here, but I didn't get any responses (it was kind of thread jacking, sorry theACE).
I love the sound of the Stainless Works system in this video but I can't find any other videos to see how I like them. If anyone has this setup it would be great to hear more before I make my mind up.
My list is down to:
Borla Catback Touring or S-type
Stainless Works
Pypes Catback
Any input on these system? I'm looking to pick up some sound but not race car levels. I use the car as my daily driver so it can't obnoxious. I like the sound throaty and raspy but as far from the ricer civic sound as possible.
Not sure if that’s even possible but that would be the perfect exhaust for me.
My biggest concern is how loud the stainless works and the pypes are. I like the sound of these more then the borla, but not if they're too loud.
Any comments help, good or bad about any of the exhausts.
Thanks!

I have the stainless steel works 3 inch retro catback exhaust. It isn't the super loud one in the video but a little more loud than most.
I tried to take a video of it but the sound quality doesn't do it justice so I didn't post it.
I can tell you that I only have a tune and CAI on my car and I am constantly having to prove that nothing else is done to the car because of the great performance tone.

Have you heard another after market exhaust to compare the sound levels to?

This might be a sign of the sound level. Just stumbled across this after hours of searching for sound clips. The manufacturer rates the sound level 8 on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the loudest.

Yeah I have a GT/CS, I don't know about the V6. I would say compared to the flowmaster hushpowers, roush, and GT500 exhaust which I had heard in person the stainless steel is much louder. And an 8 out of 10 is about right.
Looks like I'm back to the drawing board since I don't really like the Borla touring from what I've heard online (little to civic like).
I have seen some videos, some sound good, some not so much. Which do you have? Any good videos? How loud would you say?
Same questions for you. Which mufflers do you have? Any good videos? How loud would you say?

M-80 mufflers. They are the exact mufflers that come with the Pypes system they sell for our car. I'd say the nice thing about them is that they can be pretty quiet in neighborhoods and when driving by police. When you open it up, it's almost like hell hath nor fury like my exhaust lol. I have videos from my phone but they all have some sort of static in the background.
