Also, you need to keep in mind that "sounds better" is totally subjective. Some questions you need to ask yourself:

-- What volume of exhaust am I looking for?
-- What kind of drone can I live with?
-- Am I looking for deep and mellow or race and raspy?
-- Are there any local laws I need to keep in mind (for instance, removing cats or noise ordinance, especially if you live in a place with an HOA)
---- subset of that -- if you're going to track your car, does your local track have a noise limit?
Ditto. This is a very insightful post. I've heard opinions from a number of people on what they think "sound best" that cause me to say "no, thanks, too <insert adjective here>".

In my opinion, deeper tones imply "muscle" but others might say "volume" is what makes it. And if you drive your car every day as transportation, drone might get really old, really fast.

Choose carefully!

FRPP GT500 mufflers are $300 at AM. (2-3/4-inch inlets, 4-inch stainless tips. The GT500 pipes between the cats and the mufflers (if you get them from Ford) are about $495 for the pair.

People are saying they spent $200 on OEM mufflers themselves, but I don't know where they're buying them. You might be able to get a muffler shop to do your pipes cheaper if you take the mufflers to them.

Thanks brother. Very helpful. I'm still up in the air I don't want my V6 to sound full of drones and pops. I want a deep almost v8 sound rumble. This is the hardest thing to do listening to clips

I can promise you that the flows have zero drone. They do kind of rumble/pop if you shift at around 3200 rpm. I like it tho

I'm leaning towards the Flowmasters Force 2 their sound is almost Identical to the ford performance racing exhaust and they cost several hundreds less

They are a good choice if you're looking for something more mellow than the roushs. Good tone and quiet while cruising but definitely open up under throttle. plus, I LOVE the fact that the muffler portion is black. It makes those big 'ol stainless tips stand out.

UPR has the flow masters for 429. Don't buy from those price gougers AM and CJ pony parts.
