BBK Shorty header install

So this morning did the install of the shorty BBK's, went smooth no real issues. Before install did research on the web, many said right side was much ore of a job. I found the opposite, removed battery and tray leaving much room to work on the right side. All of the header bolts to head were done from up top. Only work under car was exhaust pipe flanges.

Left side was a bit more work as the steering shaft was in the way from positioning the header up to the head. Removed upper bolt from steering shaft allowed the header to fit.

Biggest part of the job was the lower header bolts on both banks. They are not easily accessible by any tool other than a combination wrench, took a bunch more time.

Install on them is really quite simple, just time consuming. I did mine both times (First set had a bad weld on the flange to runner weld) with the Battery in.
1/6th of a turn Repeat

Did you have to remove any of the studs?

The studs for the manifolds/headers. I have seen that some need to be removed for header installation because they are too long? Getting ready to install mine so just reading and doing some research beforehand...

Do yourself a favor and stop research. This job is straight forward without surprises. Have patience and do one side at a time.

I suggest you read over post #1 once again, as Ryunker did not mention anything about having to uninstall the studs while he installed his BBK shorty headers... I've also included a thread link below which provides additional information regarding the installation process...

In the meantime, welcome aboard!

If you have BBK just make sure you put the nut on the right side like is listed in instructions.
