Why not just buy the Ford racing filter if you want additional capacity and filter media?

Yeah i dug this one up from the grave, but same M22 thread being used today... so still a relevant problem

I spent 45min scouring the interwebs for a solution to convert 22mm to 3/4" oil filter with little info found except for this thread... I suspect the OP had the same trouble finding parts 5 years ago since he went so far to machine his own fittings!

Signed up to MS to drop this info for the benefit of the MS community .... No one wants to sift though multiple threads just to find a quick solution to a stupid problem.

It wouldn't be the first part that Ford engineer have designed that wasn't up to the task....

The Problem is still the same as when the OP started this, the Smaller filter that is used on the 3.7 still filters better than the filter you are wanting to use, so unless you are just wanting to increase your oil capacity the OEM Motorcraft filter is the better option.

I wouldn't mind more capacity for my 3.5 ecoboost, thanks for posting!

Do you know if this is a 1/2 qt more capacity like the filter the OP mentioned?

Given its size I would say yes. It is easily double the diameter.

What good is more oil if it is letting more dirt through the filter

For the application I would use this for the car only makes 1/4 mi passes, I'm less concerned about dirt and more concerned about extra heat capacity. The oil will get changed often.
