05+ GT500 Suspension on a 2012 V6?

Ok, so i went by my Dads the other day. He has an 07' GT 500 Super Snake. At about 800 miles he had the conversion done. So all this time he has had his stock suspension (sprngs, struts, front and rear sway bars and strut tower bar) sitting in his work room. Well I started by testing the strut tower bar. Fits perfectly, like it was made for my car. Now Im in the works to see if the sway bars will fit. from the look of it I'm told they should fit like OEM replacements, but I havnt had it done yet so I'm not sure. Now to my point, lol...

I want to get stiffer suspension but don't have the cash at the moment...now If from what I have read is true and the GT Struts off a 2011 fit my V6 and the GT500 struts from 07+ fit the GT than they should also fit my car. Now assuming this all works, I know the stock Gt 500 springs will cause a lift in my ride hight which is not what I want, what if I got lowering springs? I'm not sure how high the stock springs would lift me but I'm guessing a 1.5" drop spring should keep me at around (if not hopefully at least a .5" drop from) MY stock ride hieght? If anyone knows any details or has tried this before that would be great to find out. Thanks!

The sway bars are a bolt-on so long as you have the GT500 bushings and mounting hardware as are the struts and shocks but you will need the GT500 upper strut mounts as the earlier struts are shorter than the 2011+.

You have me a little confused on your springs question. If you get V6 lowering springs then the car will sit however much lower that the springs are designed to make the car sit.

You definitely do not want to use the GT500 springs though.

Ok cool, thanks. Oh what I ment is if I bought the GT 500 lowering springs and installed them would my car sit normal?

Reason being is I want to maintain the same ride height but get stiffer springs. Do any exist the won't lower the front more than .5"-1"?

My Vogtland springs lowered the front .75 and rear 1.25, it is the .8/1.2 kit and lowers the GT 1.2/1.2.

You sure wouldn't like GT500 lowering springs on your V6 car unless you want it to ride like a 73 chebby 1 ton pickup. You know that old chebby commercial, "Like a ROCK..."

Lol, that's too funny. Well I'm sure I could manage it. My last car had fully adjustable racing coil over suspension and I drove it daily for 5 years that way. It did get to be a PITA when I wanted to just cruise or had passengers.

Would it even help out to swap just the struts and jeep my V6 springs?

Just an up date. I installed the rear away back this weekend. Fits like a glove! Just looking to get the front installed soon.

Ok just thought to come back and check on the thread here. So let me get this straight. The struts are shorter off of an 07' GT 500 than the 2011+ Mustangs how so? Does it make the car sit lower? Also the lowering springs are mentioned here:"My Vogtland springs lowered the front .75 and rear 1.25, it is the .8/1.2 kit and lowers the GT 1.2/1.2." are off a GT and are sitting on V6 struts correct? If thats the case with out making things too complicated with no GT500 upper strut mounts what will happen to the car? Ride hight?
(I have full OEM take offs from an 07'. My Dad got his Super Snaked and they took everything off)

My plan is to install the 07' Struts with 2011+ Springs/ lowering springs.

So you will just need to use the 07 GT500 Strut mounts, you had to get those to use the aftermarket struts on the 11's anyways.
Don't know how the ride will be with the GT500 struts will be, but mine are supposed to be GT with the Performance package and it rides good.
Height will be what ever springs you use, the Vogtland's did good on my 2010.

Ok and I know I'm being a pain with this, but if I DON'T use the strut mounts?

The 11 up front struts are different, hence the reason for using the 10 down GT500 Strut mounts.
