Trackey for manual 2014 GT's manufactured after 7/1/2013
Good news. The GT track key and track cal are now up on the fordrracingparts website. I would assume that means they are shipping and installing now. Hope mine arrives soon.
And better yet. They kept the power increase that I had with the ProCal tune.
Here is what they highlight.
Driver adjustable Launch Control, or "2-step engine speed limiting"
Driver adjustable Pit Lane Speed Control
Lopey idle (we recommend Mustang GT side exhaust kit M-5220-MB to maximize the lopey idle experience)
Improved engine performance- Up to 60lb-ft at 1500rpm & peak increases of 16 hp and 7 lb-ft on 93 octane fuel

Thanks. Just to clarify though, the tracKey has the "features" of the procal tune like lanch control etc but does not have the performance enhancing tune correct?
The original ProCal only offered better performance and drivability, nothing else.
The GT Track Key combines the added power of the ProCal tune with all the Track Key features like lopey idle, launch control, pit lane speed limiter, etc.
The GT Track Key has it all, there's no reason to buy the original ProCal at this point.
The track key does override any tune you may have installed.

Wow I might just get the Track Key then and keep it all FRPP! I wonder if the Track Key tune would automatically adjust for a 3" catback, as that's really the only thing I'm planning until I go all out and get a supercharger...
Ford Racing and Ford motor company is 2 different establishments, you will have to go thru Ford Racing if you have any warranty work done;(to get it paid for) not Ford Motor Company...but they can do the work. But I bet it will not be as easy as dealing with the dealer and your factory warranty... And its only a 3yr/36k miles so I guess u will lose your 5yrs powertrain warranty too... Anything that is affected by the tune/trackey you have to go thru FORDRACING...

You state you would have to go through ford racing parts for "any" warranty work. I am sure you did not mean that. The ford racing warranty comes into play only if ford does not cover due to the tune causing the damage. Only then does the ford racing parts 3/36 come into play. As stated in the ford racing parts verbiage, you attached, the factory warranty is still in effect unless their tune causes the damage.
When my dealer installed the ProCal he was confident the tune would have little chance of being blamed for damage. However The track key does way more than the ProCal so I suspect it could lead to closer warranty scrutiny by ford. I wonder if any boss 302 track key owners have ever had a claim denied?

If you have ANY engine/powertrain issues I'm saying you are going have to go thru Ford Racing... Not talking about other issues, non-related to the powertrain. For example if my radio stopped working)
This quote:
"When my dealer installed the ProCal he was confident the tune would have little chance of being blamed for damage." doesn't meaning anything, because if you had an engine failure, I will be willing to bet Ford motor company is have a big problem with your tune/trackey. If not it would retain the factory warranty. They are two different companies. The Boss is a factory installed part right?(trackey) But I am just guessing.

Here is the difference with Ford Racing Parts. And it is a huge difference. This is how they can do the track key and how they get so deep into the electronics.

If you have a 7/1/13 build date or newer you can buy the track key, which will be a separate physical key that will load BOTH the procal improvements AND the track key improvements. You can switch back and forth at will choosing to use or not use the tune.
Prior builds can buy the procal tool which comes preloaded with the procal improvements AND track key improvements. These load together. Therefore if you want the power add you also have to live with the track stuff.
UNLESS you buy both the old procal tune and the new procal/track let tune.
I asked about not needing two tuner tools thinking like a COBB tuner, you can add multiple tunes to the tool and just switch between them. You apparently can not.
One tool would allow you to add the procal by itself and then return to stock at will (not as easy as a key change but still can go back and forth). The second tool would allow for the procal/track key tune and then also allow to return to stock.
So it's kind of obnoxious that you can't use one tool. But also convenient that they are separate. I can picture putting label maker labels on them lol.
That being said, for post 7/1/13 builds to get the same options. They would still have to buy the older procal tune and tool. And then the track key which would include the procal as well.
The only real bonus for this delay is that newer gt's can run the track features and still utilize the extra power. But both items would still be needed to separate the tunes for DD.
I also asked about the pinging that some people get some people don't bc I've never read about a definitive answer about it. He said that oil vapor getting back into the intake lowers the octane therefore causing detonation. This makes perfect sense to me but it never occurred. With the aggressive timing of the tune, the slightest drop in octane could easily cause pings. He said that 99% of the time, an oil separator like Bob's or Moroso fix the issue.

Great info on oil separator and pinging. While I have not experienced pinging this info confirms that the separator is a good idea.
I am glad they revised the track key to keep the ProCal power. I had spoken with the tech folks back in December on this same subject.
My key has still not shipped but should be soon now.

1) Stock Tune only.
-or-
2) Pro-Cal Tune only using the flash tool.
-or-
3) Trackey Tune dealer installed which gives 2 tunes stock, and Trackey depending on the ignition key used.
I don't think you can have a Trackey tune AND replace the stock tune on post 7/1/13 builds.
From http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=23702
"TracKey or Track Cal - Which is right for me?
TracKey provides the customer a unique key that activates the calibration once it has been installed. TracKey is sold and installed exclusively through US and Canadian Ford and Lincoln Dealers. Special equipment and training is required to install TracKey. TracKey is available for some 2014 Mustang GT's with manual transmission (build date after 7/1/2013)
Track Cal is supplied via our exclusive Pro-Cal flash tool. It is always active but lopey idle can be turned off. Available for all 2013-2014 Mustang GT's with manual transmission."

Also keep on mind that you can do opt 2 AND 3. That would give you procal with normal key (and the opt to return to stock with the tool). And the procal + track stuff with track key.
Yes. Just remember that #3's tune when the special key is used now includes both track adjustments and procal adjustments. They come together.

I am going to refer to the PCM on GT's from 7/1/13 on as PCM1a and PCM1b.
According to the Trackey install FAQ if you have a non stock tune before the dealer installed Trackey tune it be will overwritten with the Trackey tune in PCM1b and the stock tune will remain in PCM1a.
So you are saying that I can have a dealer installed Trackey tune and then afterwords flash PCM1a with a Pro-Cal tool and only over-write the stock tune in PCM1a while leaving the Trackey tune in PCM1b intact?
If you have a TSB that requires a PCM re-flash it will over-write PCM1a and b.
I would think any other tune after a Trackey flash would do the same?
