Tapping/Clicking noise in Gear 3, 4 and 5 with Steeda Triax Shifter
Has anyone experienced a tapping/clicking noise that comes around 3K RPM with a Steeda Triax Shifter and Bracket. I recorded a sound clip but it is not clear on my iphone I will try to record it. It goes away when I put my hand on the shifter ****.
The noise was not there when I only had the shifter on, it is only after I installed the bracket with the RED bushing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep, it's created by the bushing, not the shifter. I have that on my stocker with the bracket and black bush installed. that's why they gave you a softer red one, too. I'm going to switch out the shift **** and see if I can get at it that way. I like the precision of the black bushing.

5LHO, I had incorrectly stated that I have the black bushing, I actually have the red bushing installed currently.
I called steeda and they will get back to me.

TJ, please see attached the sound file I recorded, if this is normal with the red bushing then I am OK with it, I will just have to find a softer compound bracket, because I do not plan to power shift etc with the car, but rather have the car quite.

Recording of clicking sound
Could not get the file to upload in .WAV format, it is in mp3 format but had to zip it to be a valid file form. Let me know what you think.
You can distinctly hear the sound, it happens around 3K RPM in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear.

Are you still using the factory plastic thumb? I replaced the factory **** with an AM black resin **** and with careful install to ensure no pieces of the **** and spacer touch one another, it diminished the rattle somewhat, even on the black bushing. Plus it feels way more positive and direct now.

I am using the factory ****, I will check out the AM ****. It is not too expensive so maybe worth the try.

Nice, I jut upgraded to an MGW shifter and have that same rattle at lower rpms. It's just the noise transfer thru the shifter is greater.
Does anyone know what ***** you can fit onto the "factory" threaded handle?! I'm not looking to have to buy another handle. Thanks
