Agreed. I once went into reverse trying to go to first at a stop light. Thank God I have the back up cam. Nav screen changed and I was like whoa! Probably scared the crap out of the people behind me lol

Nice review. I just ordered a shifter today because of it.

How was the install? Not that it really matters as far as someone purchasing but just to let everyone know. If you did the same mod on a 05-10 campare please.

Install Tip: Instead of removing the two 10mm nuts under the car, use a 6-10 inch long prybar and put it between the floor pan and the trans shifter housing by bolt #4 the bolt you cant get to. GENTLY pry the trans towards the drivers seat and use a 1/4 inch 10mm socket to loosen that nut first. If you do this right the bolt will come out and you dont have to crawl under the car. I took less than 30 minutes to do the whole install.
*You DO NOT haver to muscle it just gently pry the trans towards the driver side.

The shifter is a nice piece and should last forever. As for comparing installs between the 2011 and the 05-09 its the same save for the step I skipped. A do it yourselfer should take about one hour. Hope this helps.

How much of the install is done under the car? I read their install instructions and it seems like you don't really need to, so maybe you can shed some light on this. Waiting to get some seat time with one before jumping on it.

Yeah, and their press release claims they eliminated the reverse lockout. I hope thats a typo. People already have problems with the stock shifter and being able to accidentally put it into reverse with the lockout there. Eliminate it and you are just asking for a disaster. Thats why we didnt eliminate it.

Its what it says in this press release: http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/2010/1...11-mustang-gt/

I really do hope that was a typo. That is nuts if that is what they really did.

Craziness indeed. I've accidentally shifted into reverse from a stoplight twice and the only reason I knew was because I have the back up cam and the screen comes on. I usually start in second now just to be safe.
