I presume this would be same on a Track Pack car. Just curious since I know it has the Boss oil cooler in it. Also, are the differences in the Bob's cans just how they mount?

I have the Moroso separator on my track pack car!
The oil coolers on the track pack will have no affect on this issue!

Go ahead... bake that crap on... to intake, ports, (4.6L3V and 15+ 5.0 butterflies of CMCV), valves & valve stems - all of which are outside the combustion chamber where it cannot be burned off. It also negatively affects A/F ratio (post MAF) and some say can lead to detonation issues (which hypereutectic pistons do NOT like!).

4.6L3V at just 15k miles:
Yes, several as a matter for fact. Thanks for the pics. Yes, I have seen similar residue build up over time in the intakes before. Maybe not pretty looking, but also not seeming to harming anything either. I haven't had the intake off the 2012 yet (no reason to & still under warranty) so I'm not sure what is below the inlet hose on this new 5.0.

Still not sure how a drop or two of oil per gallon of gas run thru the engine = loss of horsepower.

So if you have left over gas from your 2-stroke weed eater do you just run it in your car!
You probably don't believe in running premium fuel either!
You by no means have to get a separator, it's just better for your car in the long run, and will net you better performance!

Exactly. It's not a right now-upgrade mod, it's a long term maintenance mod. Not about making power now, it's about preserving it 5 years from now.

Just a quick up date.
Wow is it amazing how much oil moves though this PCV system.
2 trips to the drag strip, 2 autocross events, and it is still perfect with no oil residue at the end of the hose going back into the intake!
But wow do I catch a lot of oil after high revving events !
I think everyone should have one of these on there must have list!

Factory warranty still intact? I just ordered a catch can, now I'm wondering if it will kill my GT's warranty. On a nearly-new 2014, there's lots of time left on the free warranty. HF

My professional hourly rate bills at hundreds per hour (TV industry). It would take at least a few hours to make my own can, and round up the fittings, tap threads etc.... I can have a new one in my hands with no time spent other than ordering. About 3 minutes. What's the better deal? Hummm.........What's your time worth?

I'm a software guy, but I enjoy working on my car. I don't make hundreds of dollars an hour, but I'm not worried about voiding my warranty over a catch can.

Just take it off if you take the car in for service.

You'll have to read the entire thread to understand the context of my comment. The original post asked about oil separators, I said he should make his own. Then some other guy responded by bragging about how much money he makes(as if I care). My comment was questioning why someone who has that much money is concerned with a warranty on a 30k car. Yes I have a vortech because I'm not that worried about the warranty.
