Oh yes.... did tons of research/etc already. Memorized all locations of parts, oil plug, install vids for exhaust, shifter, etc... you name it. I'm ready.

Awesome. Sounds like you will enjoy the new ride, both driving and maintaining.

Got mine today. It came with the latest design improvement updates, which are as follows:

1) The original design had 3 studs on the side mounting position and a larger bolt. several customers said they had some difficulty lining up the bolt when the other 3 studs where in place so they decided to eliminate that bolt and use 4 studs.

2) The lower shifter box's original design used 2 red bushings of the same material and dimensions: one that is split for the front and one solid for the rear. after doing some testing on the track they designed a better performing rear bushing. The front red split bushing still installs the same way as the svt video shows. The rear is now white with 2 O rings attached to it. This new bushing slides on to the rear so that the smaller stepped diameter faces the rear of the vehicle. it will actually stick out of the back of the shifter box just a little bit.

Got mine installed today by Tillman speed shop. My car was the 1st car they did with this shifter. They told me that an American muscle car that they installed a hurst shifter in about a week ago was coming back in today to have it removed for an MGW shifter. The install time took 3 hours because it was the 1st time, and the installer wanted to get it right. They charged me for 2 hours.

Initial impressions: I didn't use any of the dynomat that came with the shifter but i had the installer put the sound deadening pad that came with it and goes over the factory sound deadening pad. When you start your car the 1st time you will notice a little more noise. We all know a shifter with solid parts will create more noise. I've got a Roush exhaust and the new sounds are lost to my axle-backs. The shifts are solid, and promote added confidence for banging the gears. The throws are noticeably shorter. This is a quality piece that connects you to the car , unlike the stock shifter. Some folks have said this shifter is stiff at 1st , but I've had 2 other MGW's in 2 other cars, a 2010 gt and a 2004 gt and this shifter is the least stiffest of the 3. Most guys are used to the flimsy stock shifter, so when they get their the MGW it feels stiff. To this i say (shift it like a man) that's the beauty of this shifter.

Wow... thank you for the update, bro. That looks fantastic! I have that exact same setup, just sitting in my basement for now. I just did my GT500 exhaust tonight, so I won't have time to do it until maybe next week. So impressions from you are good? You love it? The sound from the tranny is not too loud? I will be sure to use all the dynamat, etc they provide.

That shiftball looks amazing too.

No idea. You get your name on the list and they call you when it's ready for you to pay.

Update since my install i decided to use my dynomat but under the car around the shifter area. It made some difference. These cars are quiet with the windows up so you do hear some noise from this shifter as i said previously. I decided that i will add more insulation on top of the shifter next. I want to see if i can get it as quiet as the stock shifter, and i have some great ideas to get there. Will post them when i get there...other wise the shifter is breaking in nicely.

ditto^^^

the triax in my '03 GT is very notchy, too "mechanical" and the center return fights you unless going to 3rd or 4th compared to stock

anybody care to post a video or elaborate on the amount of effort the MGW adds to the shifting effort

On the 03 gt it shouldn't be bad 5spd. On my 03 cobra, the MGW takes a little effort to get 5th and 6th but not bad. Reverse can be tough. The 5spd should be nice though. The MGW handle position can be adjusted to your liking also which is really nice. My steeda sucked. I don't mind the pro5.0 in the 5spd cars either.

The increase in noise from shifter is greatly noticeable. But I'm time you will get used to it.
