I'm looking for opinions on what to do to my 2012 GT...

I have already installed the Roush Square Tip Axlebacks and have no interest in lowering the car. I would like to do some performance upgrades but I'm not sure which. I would like to do a CAI and programmer but I keep hearing horror stories about the #8 cylinder burning out and other stuff getting messed up. I have also been considering the MGW shifter but I wonder if I care enough to be happy with a new shifter....

My big problem is that I just don't know what to do next and I have money burning a hole in my pocket...

The shifter is the first thing you should've done and I haven't heard about a #8 in quite awhile.

I just ordered the MGW Short Throw Shifter for the MT-82 Transmission... MGW Classic Black Shift Ball... Heat Shield... etc. Now I just have to wait until it gets here which will take a month knowing my luck...

#8 issue was with early tuners that deleted the knock sensors. It's a non issue now with reputable tuners like Steeda Bama BBR etc.

The #8 issue is a thing of the past. MGW is a great choice. Waiting on it to get to your house is the worst part. In terms of other mods, a CAI and a tune are a good place to start. I'd personally go with JLT for the CAI and either Jon Lund or BBR for a tune. I see you have the Brembo package. Thought of upgrading your pads, lines and fluid? Simple but well worth it process.

I'd go with Marocco/Brembo5.0's 55D spring kit in the back, it levels a brembo car nicely with no negative effects. Takes about 1/2 hour to install at home.

Steeda has a great shifter and a solid CAI/Tune to complete the package. We also carry the popular Cam Idle Tune as well.

The Steeda CAI with Tune has had 0 issues in regards the #8 failure or having any warranty claims against it Our tuners are some of the best in the industry and we write every tune based on your set up.

Here is a great article that we wrote that will give you some insight to the Steeda CAI/Tune:

We can take your Mustang to the next level.. We are an American Company that specializes in Ford vehicles.

PM for forum pricing or if I can help provide any more information.

triax shifter and backup camera and alarm

Can anyone confirm if the triax shifter works with the backup camera and alarm on a 13 GT?

I swear by the Mgw short throw shifter. The only 100 % full replacement of the shifter box rear bracket and replaces all rubber squishy bushings with solid nylon bushings. For an extra 10 bucks u get a heat shield n insulation that protects from heat n noise being drawn through the shifter. Includes all lube and lock tight as well with the kit. Anyway have u thought about the roush rear valence. Compliments the square tips as it follows the same contours as the tips. Really gives it a clean look. Anyway cai n a tune r always a good addition. Pics below roush rear valence with square tips

Take a look at our CAI & SCT X3 tuner with Steeda custom tuning package: http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-p...d-mustang.html

We have had zero cylinder 8 failures.

Let me know if I can help you with that.

We at C&L Performance offer a CAI with our No-Tune insert adds at minimum 11rwhp, with the no tune insert removed and the proper custom tuning added the gains can be as high as 28-30rwhp. Our kit has the best quality fit and finish of any of the CAIs available today. Our kit retains all factory mounting location points including hose attachments and comes with a NEW plastic intake tube that outflows the stock airbox and hose. All together our complete air intake flows 45-47% more then the factory airbox/hose assembly.

Please let us know if we can be of any help with your decision if its just from answering a question to providing you with a kit, we're here to help!

Thanks!! Lee

Get rid of that fake hood scoop hood, then get some window tint.
I had a CAI and box tune on my 5.0 and it made very noticeable power increases (in the 40 hp range) with the stock exhaust too.
Not only did it make the engine sound awesome when you jumped on the gas, but even with the stock exhaust, the exhaust note improved too.
For the money the intake and tune is well worth it.
It's quick and easy to install as well.
