Got the barton 2 post bracket
Finally came in after being on back order for 3 weeks. Looks like a real quality piece. Gonna probably try to tackle it this weekend along with a steeda tri ax I have lying around.
Hopefully this will improve the shifting during hard driving.

Did the install today.
Not too difficult to accomplish however having a lot of space under there is key. If I ever were to tackle it again I'd look for a lift and/or jack up the differential for some more leverage while working under there.
And that effin boot. Best advice: sit on the passenger side while attempting to fit, have the bracket off while fitting (to give you leverage by being able to lift up and down), and start with the lockout and work from. Also helps to have a friend lift the linkage up and down while you're under the car fitting the boot.
As for impressions I am mad I didn't do this first before all the other mods. Much better control and action when using the 2 post bracket + tri ax shifter. Finished it off w/ the GT500 alcantara shift boot and OEM Boss 302 ****.

Question: When putting the center console back on I noticed an extra 'unused' grey modular plug ???
Theres one grey plug for the center, a green plug for the center, and a black plug for the trac control/hazards/trunk - but once I put it all together I was still left with another grey plug?
Spent 30 mins looking around inside the center for the other end but could not find - any ideas??
The emergency brake was still connected, as was the Ford 'restraint control' system..
I left it off and the car seems fine -

The extra plug may have been pre-wiring for the light-up cupholders (whatever they call that option ... "ambiance lighting" ?)
I have a Barton bracket on its way to me, I can't wait to get it installed ... figure I'll have it done at the first oil change, maybe even gather some more things to do by then ... lol

It literally feels like having a brand new car albeit with much better and positive shifting. Seriously, driving the car is so much more fun and the shifter really inspires confidence in knowing you're not going to embarrassingly miss a shift. It's really that good of a mod.
here's some pics of the final product...
