You made an interesting point so I followed up with FRPP regarding the hp/tq increase on the 2013/14 cars.
They confirmed the gains are for all years.
The chat I had with them is attached.

I agree that the tq is very noticeable. And the hp is very noticeable up top. The +16hp is on both models since the difference between the 412 motor and the 420 is not tune related. Here is a stock vs FFRP tune dyno. You can see that it is also much smoother power.

I still don't see how 16HP on a 420HP motor makes much of a difference. That is about a 3% increase. But I am glad you notice it. The torque in theory is a bigger gain however I did not feel that much. That being said such a small gain to me is not worth it.

It's not always about peak power gains. That's why I posted the dyno. It's a gain throughout the whole band. At this point, with just the tune, even if I roll into the throttle in second gear, I lose the back end a bit. So I'm sure I don't speak for everyone, but anymore power and I'd be terrified to drive it. Lol

$480 for 8hp? save your money and take the wife or girlfriend or both out to dinner and have a better time after you get home. If its all about warranty, Just wait the five years for the tune. You can start with doing suppenision & tires up-grades. So when the time comes, you can down load a Good tune. Your stang will be ready for that power upgrade. To be honest: There are some really good tunes that are safe out there. Just my 2 cents. First deciede which direction you want to go with you car. Install parts that fit your need. Power should be added towards the end and go from there to make a full package for your car. Enjoy your ride!!

PC is about how the car feels. The factory tune is soft down low, has tons of rev hang and skip shift on the 11-12s. All of this goes away and the car feels like 400+ HP should feel. It's about daily enjoyment, not elusive dyno #s.
That said, dragstrip dyno confirms my feelings are backed up by real performance. I've seen many B***, S****a, etc. tuned cars at the track that don't do as well as mine, even on 93 tunes.
It isn't for everyone but, I paid $280 and $50 to "install" it, at a dealer so, that's good value. The car is just out of it's B2B warranty now and nothing appears to be in distress in the driveline or motor.
