Exhaust leak

After switching out the stock cat back on my Boss 302 to a flowmaster x pipe, ota's, and outlaw mufflers I have noticed an exhaust leak on from the ball and socket connection where the cat meets the x pipe. I am thinking I might have bent the clamps when taking them off the h pipe and was wondering where I could find a good solid pair of ball and socket clamps that I would be able to crank down to ensure I don't continue leaking.

I've got the same thing going on with mine after installing my BBK cat delete pipes. They seemed larger than the stock cat pipes and didn't fit as far into the stock H pipe, so I'm just going to have them welded up and be done with it.

This I guess would be the end all be all fix, though at some point I am sure I will put long tubes on the car and having to have that cut off I feel would be a pain.

Yea, I just couldn't stand the exhaust leak. $30 and it was done, though they had to drop my BBK pipes to weld the top sides. If I ever do LT's, I'll just whip out the sawzall.

I found some oem style clamps on JEGS but they were too expensive for my taste. Found them on rockauto for like $9 a piece plus shipping. JEGS was around $29 each. I warped one getting it off the oem H pipe on the switch to the bbk after cat x.

I just checked rockauto and they only had one style, the wrong style. I will just have to contact a dealership and see what they will run.

If yours are anything like mine was, they're going to have to be different sizes on each end, a larger diameter on one, then taper down on the other end.

I have also been wondering if it is possible for a shop near me to cut some of those oval shaped flanges, that you see on the older mustang exhausts, and put those on both ends and then weld the bottom onto them. That way I can bolt the exhaust together and it will pull rather then clamp the ball and socket, which I think will eliminate the leak. I just have to price that out over getting someone to weld on a flex pipe and some v bands on.

I didn't know they had one. But mine was driving me nuts so I wanted it fixed asap.
