Will do. I wonder what gear they do the pulls in on an auto. There is no 1:1 ratio on them. 4th is slightly under driven, 5th slightly over driven.

Dyno results are in. Car was on a Mustang dyno and posted 494 rwhp @6400 and 464 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm. I was initially disappointed, but was informed that the Mustang dyno reads 12-15% lower than a dyno jet. I that is true, that would mean it would show 553 rwhp, which is what I was hoping for.

This is with the custom tune, right? And why would one dyno read less than another dyno? Don't you think they would put out a software update if everybody in the industry was saying their dynos are off?

That is correct. The Mustang dyno will read lower, but it tends to be more accurate from what I hear/read.
Nice numbers!

Darkside Build Begins

Video of the pull - should be fixed now. Had to reduce quality to get it to fit and trim the length.

I was told by the dyno tuner that the canned tune from ProCharger was spot-on for the car. A/F ratio, timing, boost curve were all just where they needed to be for reliable power. Could it be tuned for more? Yes, but at the risk of problems down the road with the stock rods and pistons. I'm happy with the results and the car pulls really hard. The first few passengers reacted with "holy $hit!" when I took the for a ride....and I gradually went to full throttle.

Well it's good to know ProCharger knows what they are doing with their tunes.

Dyno sheets - not sure why they went sideways.

I've been reading up in dynos, and it really is weird that the two main types can give such a large difference. Interesting stuff though if you research it. In the end, the car is fast (there's always someone faster though), and I really love it.

David... your chronicle reminds me so much of mine.

But yes, I researched all the blowers and decided on the Maggie because it was the easiest install. The Procharger was also something I looked into, but the centri vs roots argument was what did me over, versus the install.

That being said, nice job on the install and final results. Looks stock-ish. Welcome to the Dark Side, my friend. Welcome indeed.

p.s. don't worry so much about dyno numbers etc... if you read my past posts, I also went through my disappointments with finding the right dyno, what it meant, etc. I settled on ~550whp. Strong enough for me. Fast enough for me...while still maintaining reliability and health of my car.

Keep us posted on further updates.

(Also forgot to tell you that my team/employees have started one of our projects for Warner Robins Air Force Base... we're excited, and hope to have it installed there by January. Maybe I'll see you there?)

I'm not worried about the numbers since I know dyno type can have a big influence. The shop I went to has a great reputation and I'd use them again if needed. Great people who know what they are doing. ProCharger and the vendor I bought the unit from know the shop and the guy who checked my car and he comes highly recommended. For now, I'm done with performance mods because I'd have to get into the internals to go higher.
