What? That's funny. You think you can just rev any old V8 as high as the Boss 5.0? You think Ford didn't make any changes at all to the engine but just changed the rev limiter in the ECU? lol
Of course they can make more power at the higher rpm - that's nothing new. But there are differences so the engine will hold together as well as improving breathing.

Glad I have a Boss block in my 5OH without the oil squirters. I was considering adding them on there.

Ford has replaced more than its share of engines due to folks running them low on oil.
My guess as well. I use a quart every 4,000 miles, and it is a very good synthetic. My Honda V6 uses a quart every 20,000 miles (it is approaching 200K).

MAN I tell you what you aren't kidding. I've been a member there since I bought my car but just starting looking around on here. Some of those guys are absolutely brutal when it comes to the design of what I'd consider a pretty d*amn high tech machine.

I wouldn't worry too much about it but I just want to throw it out there that I have a 02/2011 build date and I have never used one drop of oil. It's always right on the line where it was when changed or even brand new at 109 miles. I got a good one I guess
