It's like saying the Boss 2012 at 444 hp is more powerful than the 2012 GT at 412 hp. Until you realize they run the Boss at higher rpm to get that number. There's no 32 hp difference between the two in my opinion. It's just Ford being Ford. I guess I'm just cynical.
That's funny. You think you can just rev any old V8 as high as the Boss 5.0? You think Ford didn't make any changes at all to the engine but just changed the rev limiter in the ECU? lolOf course they can make more power at the higher rpm - that's nothing new. But there are differences so the engine will hold together as well as improving breathing.

My guess as well. I use a quart every 4,000 miles, and it is a very good synthetic. My Honda V6 uses a quart every 20,000 miles (it is approaching 200K).

I apologize for the rant in advance...
I dared to look on allfordmustangs.com at their reactions to this latest find and I realized something. Nowadays I would really hate to be an engineer on a project such as the powertrain for these cars.
All your work is scrutinized and criticized when its not 100% perfect all the time, and even when you look back over your work and revise parts to make it better, you still get criticized and you become the source of some big conspiracy of big business out to destroy the consumer.
Well to those Coyote engineers, thank you for giving us such an amazing engine giving us 400+ HP in such a small package from the factory. Your work is greatly appreciated.
These guys on these forums now talk about how this was a rushed project but nobody looks at this from another point of view. These engineers dedicated lots of time and stress to do this in such a short time frame for mass production. All I can think of is how demoralizing this all is to see all your dedication to the Mustang get ripped apart by so many childish remarks.
