Borla catback plus CAI = any possible issues?
From the install video from AirRaid, it looked pretty simple. And if not, I would think I could install the stripping on the box BEFORE I install it into the engine compartment?
I suggest calling AirRaid to get it sent to you, or you could just get a Bama Tune.

Just read your thread. I just started thread about this. I have had engine light and misfire problems 3 times before on my 2013 5.0 like others on here and since the last time it seems it has been Ok. Installed Airaid CAI without tune and yesturday my engine light came on again. Went back to dealer this morning, left car and about 3 hrs later they called me that they reset the computer again. They said that the engine was running too lean and causing misfiring and that it was fluctuating do to the valve in the Airaid tube being loose because it is only held on by a grommet and could cause engine light to come back on again if I leave the Airaid CAI on. They ask me to bring stock CAI back so they could put it back on and retest, after they put stock one on everything checked out and was no longer running lean. Man I loved that Airaid CAI great sound, but apparently is causing problems.

sounds like this issue is caused by a loose valve?????? Was it not installed correctly by you? Or is it a design flaw? Now I am concerned

Anyone else seeing this issue?
My C&L no tune intake works great, no issues so far, and it was much cheaper direct.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my Airaid and sound, but it may just be the newer mustangs. 2013 seems to have a lot a problems with engine lights coming on ( see "misfire" thread ) and these CAI's inhance these problems. the Airaid has a rubber grommet that you fit into the hole in the Airaid tube, then the valve is pushed into this grommet so you can actually move the valve around stock intake valve is stationary, and apparently what the mechanic is telling me that when this valve is under pressure it will cause fluctuations that cause it to run too lean which will also cause engine light to come on during there test.
You mean the weather stripping that's supposed to serve as the "seal" that meets up to the hood, to prevent hot engine compartment air from entering the box?

I will be sure to do that.

Ah... I do recall reading something about that. So help me understand this: I assume there is only one type of airraid CAI you can buy right? So it satisfies both auto and manual trans cars? If so, what is to be done about a valve that's in one but not the other??? Is there a hole that has to be plugged?
No I do not have a Automatic I have a 6 spd. I do not know what the name of the valve is called but it's the one right next to that Auto valve.
If anyone else has insight on this, please chime in.
Found my instructions on the Airaid CAI. the valve I am referring to is the " CRANK CASE BREATHER LINE VALVE ".
I remember doing mine and there was an assortment of rubber/plastic plugs. It seemed straightforward to me, but maybe an incorrect or ill fitting plug may be to blame? A picture of your unit might help too. The top hole needed a plug and the bottom one a grommet with the silver valve for the PCV connection IIRC. I'd contact Airaid and see what they have to say.
