I usually accept what the tire manufacturers say: 275-35x19 is OK on a nine-inch wide rim. I have Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s in that size on Saleen Parnelli Jones wheels 19x9/10. I would hesitate to put 285s on a nine-inch rim.

According to the tire calculator a 275 35 will fit the 9 inch Brembo wheel,(any 9 inch wheel)but the 275 40 should have a wheel at least 9 1/2 inches wide.Obviously people are running 275 40 and 285 35,s on the stock Brembo 9 inch wheel with no problem according to them (which i believe) so i,m really having a hard time now deciding on what size,its either 275 40 or 275 35 or screw it and go with the stock 255 40 19.

Personally, if i wasnt interested in tracking the car, I would do 255 40 19 front and 275 35 19/275 40 19 rear on the stock rims. It also depends on the manufacturer, as widths vary. i.e Nitto runs narrower and bridgestone a lil wider.

I,d like to know if anyone knows what the benefits or negatives would be in running a 275 35 as apposed to a 275 40,having nothing to do with fitment just handling and ride!

Should be a little better w/ the shorter sidewall. A tiny bit stiffer, depending on the tire choice.

Will definetly give a tire review,not sure what size yet,but i,m ordering them tomorrow from the tire rack so i better make up my mind on 275 35,s,40,s or stock 255 40,s (19) tonight!!

Looks like i,m going to stick with the stock 255 40 19,s.I spoke to someone at the tire rack just now and the 275 40 will fit no problems but i decided to just stay stock size unless someone convinces me tonight that going to a 275 will be a better choice.

I ordered the GY Eagle F1 asymetrics A/s in 255 40 19,will be shipped monday,should have them tuesday from the tire rack.I get all my tires there,never a problem and the best customer service around.

It will fit and give you improved straight line traction, but the footprint being wider than the rim will result in the sidewall rolling somewhat during lateral transition compared to a square setup.

That is correct, but the larger footprint translates into better grip, so the flex isn't even going to be noticeable. The 255's will start to slide whereas the 275's will flex and hold the road. Either way you can't go wrong

Not to mention the sidewall on these tires is so short that flex is very minimal anyways, but you made an informed decision and you'll be happy with those tires

why not go 275/35 if you are worried about flex?
