I was wondering about the size you posted and the 285 35 19 on stock brembo wheels. Thank you for starting this post!

There are members on here and other sites that say they are running 285 35,s with no problems, and thats on lowered cars.I,m ready for new tires and wanted to go slightly wider unless there is going to be any problems naturally. On the tire calculater the 275 and 285,s are a smaller overall diameter than the stock 255,s so i dont see a problem.I want to get it first hand from someone using or who has atempted using these sizes.BTW thats 35,s on the 275 285,s.Ms. Danielle, was that nope meaning they will or wont fit with no problems?

Wider tires on those rims might give you more straight line traction but will compromise your handling in the twisties.

I'm running 275X40s on the rear and love them. Great traction and look good.

I,m not worried about the rear,i can run a 40 series on the back, its the front i want to not worry about.Dont want to go with a 285 35 as i think its to wide for the 9 inch wheel even though it would fit, dont want a stretched look.

I'm running 275/40/19's up front and 285/35/19's in the rear on my brembo package wheels and have no problems whatsoever. I also have my car dropped 1"

Thanks man, I understand why people would say that they won't be as good through the "twisties" because of flex, but all I can say is that my grip improved a lot. I mean there is more contact surface all the way around

I,m so glad you have responded G! Every single tire dealer i have spoke to,the tire rack, direct tire,Mavis tire, tire direct ,etc.,etc. all told me the same exact thing. That a 285 35 will not fit the 9 inch Brembo wheel and 275 40,s will rub the front and can only be used in the rear.I have a basically stock suspension,55D rear springs,Roush uca,FRPP lca,and was thinking about going with 275,s,i figure the 40,s would ride a little better than the 35 side wall but was told by the experts not to up front.

The way I figure... If I could run a 275 on an 8" wide wheel... Heck I did it once on a 15x7... There should be no reason why you can't run it on a 9" wheel

No problem. No rubbing at all, but I wish that I had the 35's up front just because I like the raked look. My sidewall is taller up front than in the back and I don't like that

I think maybe i,ll go 275 35 all around just to play safe, according to the tire calculater the 35 series tire is actually smaller in diameter than the stock 255 40 tire so i dont see any issue with up and down rubbing even when the wheel is turned most of the way which shouldnt happen anyway when driving faster than driveway speeds, and there should be lots of room width wise.

I drive my car hard on occasion and I promise, you will have no rubbing issues even if you go with the 40 series tires

What would be more beneficial considering both will fit,the 275 40 or 275 35?

The stock rims aren't wide enough for 275/ 285s
