Oxford White
Oxford White
I didn't see an Oxford White color option on the forum yet...
so, has anyone done a comparison of the Oxford white for 2014 vs Performance White for 2013? I was getting ready to convince myself to order a '14 but i see my favorite color (PWhite) is no longer available. I really liked it. I'm afraid the Oxford is a more drab white available on the work trucks and vans....
I'd hate to order it and find out after it arrives

I can tell you directly, having had both. The Performance White is a slightly beige white. Oxford White has a slight gray/blue tint to it. It's subtle, but noticable in comparisons. If you have a *pure* white to compare it to, you'll see the tints of these two.
Oxford is my favorite between the two. I think HP is actually the drab one. I will be repainting Awesome, when that time comes, in that color instead of HP.
Don't get me wrong, they're both very good, and I ain't paintin' Awesome anytime soon! I just like Oxford better.

well, I went to the dealer today to price a track pack recarro 14. they happened to have two v6 cars parked next to each other. one PW 13 and one OxW 14. It was difficult to tell any difference. The sun was out and the cars were pointing opposite directions. Maybe the 14 Ox was a hair more dull. Dunno. I may have to revisit on an overcast day.
Or i could just order a GHIG car instead....

I ordered Oxford White (with black stripes) a couple of weeks ago. In the showroom the Oxford White sample does appear a bid drab as compared to the sample for the performance white. But I looked at actual oxford white cars (admittedly not mustangs) on the lot in nature light and am confident Oxford White will be fine.
i stopped at another dealership today. The weather was overcast. there was a 13 V6 and a 14 GT spaced about 4-5 cars apart. Under these conditions, to me, the Ox actually looks a big brighter. The PW seems to have an ever so slight cream shade.
I actually like the Oxford White better, today.
FWIW
... I placed an order on Friday but its DIB, which I like. but the Brembo Brake Ox White car today has me considering changing it (again). I have through tuesday...

Man, I wanna paint Awesome now.. But no, must resist...
/One painting project is plenty thanks.
//PC800 from Honda is a plastic MONSTER.
Wife has a oxford white f150, i have performance white gt, both 2011s, when washed and waxed, the truck has more of a darker white finish, the GT is brighter, less gray in the paint. Both look good though.
Ford went to oxford white on all vehicles to prolly save some money on paint cost..

With that said, the two are very different whites, though virtually impossible to distinguish without a side-by-side comparison - and even then, the difference is often too subtle to see. In absolute terms, PW is more brilliant. It's also a redder/warmer white. Oxford is a bluer/cooler shade.
One would REALLY need to be far more **** than anybody I'd ever want to golf 9 holes with for the difference between them to be aesthetically significant. On one hand, I probably choose PW. On the other, OW is SO common and prevalent that matching ease would probably be well worth many people's while.
The biggest difference will be to those wish striped cars. Oxford is likely to be slightly more complimentary to Blue, Silver and Black stripes. PW will likely flatter Reds and darker Grays more. But even those subtleties would require sufficiently optimal lighting to make enough of a difference to matter.
It really struck me at first because I had planned to add a '14
convertible to a '13 coupe and would've would up with mismatched twins. No more suitable '13s existed, and trading after just one year was hardly financially appealing. With all else being equal, PW would be my choice, even with other Oxford White vehicles I own that they'd otherwise match. But if PW weren't available, I'd have no qualms about OW and telling anybody who'd insist it looks different that they were crazy.
Ok. Hopefully this will help folks by providing a quick and dirty comparison between the two. No, it's not color corrected to the point I'd usually do for anything that really mattered, but it really doesn't matter given how few people who'll be viewing this will have calibrated their displays to a similar extent.
What it DOES show is the relative difference between Performance White (on the left) and Oxford White (on the right) to a reasonably accurate degree with a common reference that appears in both and is matched close enough for the purpose it's intended to serve.
Unless somebody's display happens to be horribly out of whack, the image gives a very good impression of the difference between the two whites on an actual car. Of course, it's still possible to find a 2013 paint swatch book inside most dealers that will enable folks to put small samples of the two side by side. But even as limited as this example may be, I find it to be a better overall representation of the difference between the two.
Again, it's only meant to be a representative approximation, and it does a pretty good job. It's NOT meant to be anything anybody would take to the paint mixer. Hopefully it helps.
