Carshow today

Well, I thought I had a chance at this show, till the 2013 Boss pulled up next too me.. I don't get it... I spend hours detailing engine and adding personal touches to the car, and the boss was completely stock, and they win..lol. Oh we'll, winning isn't everything, just participating is the fun of it.. And it was a boss after all.. Lol

Ah yes the time comes, 4 hour car washes+detail jobs, but coming over and enjoying cars is the whole experience for me, winning something a second thought, but it is always great to win .

Unhappy show judging

My wife & I have multiple awards (my Kona 5.0, her V6 Race red) including two Best of Shows. Her Stang is almost totally stock and mine has about 15-17 minor appearance changes (SHR louvers, CS front clip, black badging, Hushpower, GT500 rims, etc.) and I have found that "talking" to the judges means very little. Money talks. Last Month in Pensacola we tied for 2nd place (Judge's Choice/ old LMA)at a Regional MCA Show and the car that won was way dirtier than mine...but the guy belonged to the local club. Enough Said???

I've won about 10 or 11 trophies with my Kona 5.0, but usually I get classed with Saleen, Rousch, Steeda, Cobra, or stock Boss cars. The key is cleanliness to the extreme and complete detailing. I try to go to shows that use MCOA classification and judging rules. Last year I went to a show and my car was the ONLY car to win a trophy...a 3rd place...that wasn't in the local club. Can't beat city hall.

Ya, I prefer the classes be split. I do pretty good there. Everyone at this show was upset how the lack of categories did not exist. Oh well, it's all about meeting new people, and getting ideas any how...
