Hey everyone,
First off I'd like to say thanks to all the admins/mods and you guys for having put together such a great community.
There is a wealth of knowledge here and I can't wait to become a part of it.
First off, my name is Joey.K and I love in Western Canada (Alberta).
I'm 24, and I've finally worked enough and saved enough to buy my very first (new) car. Enough about me! Here are some quick stats on the car:
Year: 2014
Model: GT
Color: Grabber Blue
Trans: 6 Spd manual
Interior: Charcoal leather W/ Grabber Blue Accents, Regular Shaker audio.
Wheels: 19" Polished Aluminum w standard brake package.
Back-up sensors.
What I've done so far to the car: I've blacked out my rims, mirror caps, spoiler, 5.0 badges, third brake light and front/rear side markers with black plasti-dip.
Then since removed the 5.0 badges and added roush badges.
Also added rear window louvres (but they're for a 2010 so they don't quite fit)
I plan to: add a complete "grabber blue engine dress up kit" as well as GB Caliper covers. Plus a rear window louvre and short throw shifter.
Pics to follow!
Thanks again guys,
Joe

Just trying to upload some pictures right now.
I'm willing to accept any and all advice, tips and tricks.
Also, I'm going to slowly do a 5.0 build, and utilizing this sites knowledge. I'll hold bi-weekly or monthly votes for the next part or build for the car.
Regards,
Joey

Looks awesome Joe. Whereabouts in Ab are you? I lived in Edmonton and Calgary. That province is hard on vehicles. I joined the mustang club in Calgary. They have a sponsored show at the casino every week. free beer and food for registering your car in the shows.

Quarter window louvers (sadly, for a 2005-2009) so they only fit about 3/4 of the way, and the 3m tape isn't really sticking in this winter cold.
Slowly modding. Trying to stick with mods that are both tasteful, and wallet friendly right now until in the new year.
Still thinking about a Roush Stage 1 (comes with the warranty to protect my stupid ***), but the car has more than enough power for me right now.
I'll keep looking at what you guys have done with:
- superchargers
- cheaper twin turbos
- basic bolt-ons
and factor in what I can do myself in my garage, versus HAVING to get a shop to perform it. Drivability. Longevtity.
Thanks again guys and girls, and I'll figure out the pictures soon.
I couldn't upload my blacked out hood vents, the rest of my rims, or my spoiler and side markers, but its there in some pictures. I used cans of Plastidip and also did my speaker chrome surrounds inside in a close-to-grabber-blue color.
I am comtemplating getting my Lourvers in Grabber blue to match the side of the car, but I felt the black quarter window lourvers looked better with the black rear window louver. Sort of liking the black and blue theme, but I'm all about choices.
So feel free to throw suggestions my way.

Joey. K

@ DarrenGT: I live in Sherwood Park, its about 20 minutes East of Edmonton. I just picked the car up September 26th, drive it for 2 days, and then I left to go on a family vacation for 2 weeks. Got back to Alberta and drove it for a week, then, whipped it completely around at a stop sign from a stand still (non intentional) and wrecked my wheel, wheel hub assembly, bent my rear axle. So ford quoted me at $3600. $1200 for the wheel, $500 for the tire, and then like $800 parts and about $1200 for labour. So it sat in the shop for 7 days or so. Drove it for 2-3 days, then went away for work for 2 weeks.
The old girl doesn't get much use. It just rolled over to 1000 kms last week. I did purchase some 255/35R18 winters for the car, but didn't mount them on the car yet. In all honesty, I'll drive it very little this winter.
GB Headlight splitters, Raxiom LED interior lighting, GB shifter ball **** all on order! Still debating the pre-cut carbon fiber dash kit. As well as the carbon fiber faux looking rear seat delete. Was thinking about the GB X-brace, but I might leave that area open for a small subwoofer installation. Lots of dreams and not enough money or time.
My main upgrades that I wanted were an exhaust (hopefully the girlfriend pulls the trigger on that for a christmas surprise) but, I have a cop in the house to my left, and a cop and paramedic just moved into the house on the right!!! So, needless to say, I drive like a grandpa in my neighbourhood, especially with all the kids too.
My friendly neighbourhood cop told me not to tint my front because it'll attract to much attention from the cops that sit on the corner of my street every 6-8 weeks busting like 50+ cars for seatbelts and tint.
So tint for the front is out. exhaust I was thinking Flowmaster Outlaws or Street. Of course I want it loud, but... like old man loud. Or... sophisticated loud. Not like my friends 2013 V6 with Roush axle backs. Too raspy for me in the higher rpms and a little too loud for the type of neighbourhood I live in.
If I start my car and let it idle for 15 minutes, or leave at 1:00 am to go for a late night cruise, I don't want to be 'That Guy' who wakes everyone up. That being said, I want LOUD!
I did think about electronic exhaust cutouts, which give me that deeper tone with the flip of a switch. Pretty stealthy.
I also took it to the track a month ago, for my first ever run. I think I did a 15.0 and a 14.8 or 14.6 I forget, for my only 2 runs, ever. But I did manage to 1) turn off traction control on my second burnout and run. 2) not miss/grind my shift into second gear. 3) get my reaction time down from a .800 something to a .050!!
Thats it for me I think! Rambled on too much. I'm just too excited. I ditched my girlfriend for the car for about 2 weeks and told her that she was now replaced
Have a great night all!
regards,
Joey K
