Angry Martin to drive 01 Chevy

This is like the worst thing that I could possibly hear right now. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad mark is still going to race some because I've been a fan since I was a kid, but this whole Chevy thing is killing me. Could it be worse yes, he could have choose Toyota.

Yeah I just heard the news and was about to post it here too. http://www.jayski.com if you want more info.

I wasn't going to be paying much attention to the 07 season to begin with because of Toyota coming in but this is just the final nail in the coffin. Im thinking that when I come home this winter, I'll be getting rid of all my Nascar stuff.

But Im still hoping that maybe, JUST maybe, that MB2 will announce a partnership with Roush and Ford...

I am and have been a Martin fan for years. Hope he wins the Cup this year. Having said that - I think Mark is like alot of the great ones in sports (ie Farve) its hard for them to say goodbye. The team he is going to I think has won like 2 races in 8-9 years.

This is highly disappointing. Martin in a Chevy is like having handburgers on Thanksgiving. Who does that??

Thats a big negative on the MB2 teams changing to Fords. It was one of the first questions they were asked and they said definatley not.

Looks like I'll have to start rooting for Carl "Chicklets" Edwards. I have to do something when I go to the races.

NEW RUMOR!!

I'm watching SPEED right now. They are showing practicing from today. It's beginning to sound like Martin may get back in the 6 again for another year.

Hope this gets confirmed.

from jayski.com & LTN Radio Network . . .

MB2 to Ford? Martin part owner? The LTN Radio Network reported today [Oct 8th] that Mark Martin's long-term plans with MB2 Motorsports will include at least part ownership of the team. This ownership, combined with Martin's long-term relationship with Ford, means the 3-car team will change to the "blue-oval" before Daytona 2007. The team will also include 2 Busch cars and 2 late models for a driver development program.(LTN Radio Network)(10-8-2006)

Well . . . according to Bobby Ginn (majority owner of MB2 as of July 2006) there are no plans to switch to Ford . . . . per his interview on Wind Tunnel (SPEED TV) this evening.

I feel things are bad for Ford in NASCAR right now. For whatever reason, Chevy is dominating the sport. In years gone by, we always could depend on Roush for decent results and further back, Yates was tough to beat. Anymore though it seems like it's practically impossible for ANYONE to win driving a Ford except maybe Kenseth on a rare occasion.

What's up with that?

Last year was a good year for Ford even thou nobody from Ford won the Cup.
This year Biffle and Edwards had really bad luck, and replacing Busch with McMurray was a big mistake.

Next year will be even worse. There is no way that Ragan can replace Martin.
