This was my first Champ car race I have watched and I will be watching again. It was a great race. A lot of action and turmoil. Tracy and Bordais went at it coming out of the pits early on in the race.
Here are the details. Enjoy!

Yeah, that was a pretty wild one. I usually prefer real road courses over street circuits, but it was still pretty exciting. I actually found myself shouting at the TV a couple times. I'm still not sure what to make of Tracy and Bourdais coming together at the pit out, but that was a heck of a pass for the lead by Wilson.
Edmunton should be an interesting one next week. It's an airport circuit like Cleveland, so there should be plenty of room for passing. Also, I'm thinking PT and Seabass will both feel the need to prove something after this week.

I was quite dismayed when Tracy ran out of fuel. It was just bad luck. Although they should have had him in a lap earlier just to be sure.
With PT and Bourdais, I would have to side with PT on that one. He was across the stripe before Bourdais plus he had no where to go but the wall when Bourdais cut across. At first glance it looked like Tracy just forced his way but when it came down to the replay I could see Bourdais was the one who forced his way.
That was amazing how Wilson came hard on the inside of the turn to take the lead from Servia.
How about that crash with Allmendenger Yikes! Domingez hit him after the fact but man that had to jar the bejesus out of him.
I felt bad for Andrew Ranger though So close to a top ten finish and something went wrong with his transmission. Did they ever figure out if it was from debris from Allmendenger's car?

I'm with you on the PT debacle, and the way Mario hit AJ scared the crap out of me.
As for Andy Ranger's problem, it turns out that the tranny was OK. He accidently hit the kill switch in the cockpit and shut down the engine. To be honest, I would have liked to see him do another year or two of Atlantics before moving up, but I think that, with more experience, he'll do just fine.

Keep in mind that he's an 18 yr old kid that's just stepped up from 240hp Toyota Atlantics to 800hp Champ Cars. That's a pretty steep learning curve. Plus, he's teamed with Nelson Phillippe, who I think is even less ready. I think a more experienced teammate could be a big help to either one of them.

AJ's on provisional pole at Edmunton, which means that, no matter what happens in final qualifying tommorrow, he's guaranteed a front row start on Sunday. Other than a few safety issues, it's looking to be a pretty good track, with elements of a street course, and airport course, and a road course.
