Who is going to buy a 2013 GT500 ?
Thanks Deysha, I am going to start making some inquiries to find out what kind of deal dealers are willing to consider. I will be looking for a 2013 GT500 convertible and hoping for something between invoice and MSRP, we will see.

I am leaning to getting a race red 2013 GT 500, but would prefer orange. I heard that Red Candy paint may be offered as a color choice. Fom pictures I have seen, Red Candy appears to look like an orange color. Is Red Candy a funny colored orange ?
Last year I used the car one afternoon and was driving thru town with a blue Shelby tagging along. I pulled up at a light and a woman pulled up beside me, powered her window down and said, "I've been following you for blocks, just to tell you how nice that color looks!" ....... I took that as a compliment,... and left it at that! :-
I think I am leaning towards Race Red no stripes but also thinking about black with flat black (or dark grey) stripes, depending on what is offered. Love the look of black but not the maintenance.
Does anyone have a breakdown on the % of each color sold for the GT500, what are the most and least popular colors?

Do you have the complete breakdown for 2011 & 2012?
Last summer I've had my wife's Candy Red convertible photographed beside a Race Red Boss, ..... and while they both looked good, we both thought the Candy Red paint was the better color, especially for a convertible.
Now before WWIII breaks out on my comment, Ialso must say that color is a very personal choice so get what YIOU want. But I'm just trying to also say, check out both colors, side by side if you can befor you finalize your choice.
........ if it's any consolation, I haven't decieded which color I'll select for my new Shelby as yet, ..... or even if I'll follow through and actually buy one. But I have put a deposit down to secure a spot in the line-up, and that spot is the first Shelby coming to this dealer.
So "Good Luck" with whatever you choose to do,...,

If you're getting a convertible and are looking at Race Red, do try to compare it to Candy Apple Red before you ink the deal.

I was looking at an order guide for another 2013 Ford and they are discontinuing Candy Red and replacing it with Ruby Red Tri-Coat Metallic, I wonder if we will see the same thing when the GT500 Order Guide come out?? Could be same color with different name or something completely different - we shall see.
I recently made a joke to my girlfriend that if I married her she would have to by me a 2013 gt500 ... She thought it was a miraculous idea ... Surprisingly for some reason I was not excited about the idea lol.... I took a rain check ...

I need to find pout of the Gray is a lighter shade or a darker shade of Gray too,...
I'd like to get the color thing out of the way now, so one less thing to deal with when it's tme to spec out the rest of the car. Unlike like last years Boss, there are a few options to consider.
Cheers,
I am not particularily fond of white cars, but a white GT500 with bid red racing stripes could look very nice. I definitely want the big racing stripes. If I get race red, I would want black stripes.
